Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Who does GB have at WR anyways
They know how to scheme people open and have a Top 3 QB throwing the ball. Losing Davante definitely made them weaker, but, the defense should be a good one too. I wouldn't count them out quite yet.

They’re not a threat to Tampa at all in fact If Tampa doesn’t get the first seed I hope GB does. They won’t be able to run on them and with no WR and a choker at QB they stand no chance

Y there’s no knowing when Godwin will be back but Gronk, Evans, Gage , and Grayson is still legit
I'd tweak your comment to say,..

Grayson, Perriman, and Miller are good WR4/5 and have upside to be decent WR3.

Vaughn is a good enough WR4 but no upside.

And Darden should be wearing street clothes. I hope one of the undrafted WRs beat him out as a kick/punt returner.

Yup.

Same defense and they added Mathieu

The offense with Thomas-Landry-Olave can be a problem depending how well Winston plays
I think they'll be a middle of the road team. Winston sucks as a gunslinger due to Interceptions. He isn't particularly fast so not a duel threat. His only upside is to be a half decent game manager.

NO are not a threat other than giving Tampa and Brady fits.

???

They were a 9 win team last year, with all their issues.

I don't expect Bucs tight end Cade Otton to participate in rookie minicamp this weekend, but he said after the draft that his ankle should be fully healed by start of training camp.

Well it’s not like the Bucs can do worse against the Saints. It’s only up from there.

Looking at the NFC, this might be the weakest conference we’ve seen in a long time.

After the Rams and Bucs (latest Super Bowl winners), nobody else is a team you can trust to contend. The only team is the 49ers, but they yo-yo between a going to the Super Bowl (2019), not making the playoffs (2020), then having a fluke playoff run (2021).

Everyone else either chokes (GB, Dallas, Cardinals) or just isn’t a threat.

Assuming they are healthy, Rams-Bucs should be the NFCCG.

Video: Bucs rookie tight end Cade Otton says he’s progressing well from the ankle injury that ended his season early last fall.

Goedeke said Ali Marpet reached out to him after he got drafted and he got to pick his brain for a half-hour about playing guard in this system and adjusting to the NFL and Tampa.

I agree. The Niners are interesting as they are stuck right now with Jimmy because he had the shoulder surgery. Lance is a HUGE wild card. If they end up retaining Jimmy which I think is remote, I think they could be pretty good again assuming health which is always a question mark with Jimmy. But overall I agree, the two most trusted teams are the Bucs/Rams.

Bucs have a second batch of joint practices coming in August — they’ll work with the Dolphins in Tampa ahead of their preseason opener. Doing the same with the Titans in Nashville.

They'd have to win both games against the Bucs to be a threat. I doubt they do it this time. No Payton and Brees, and I think Thomas and Landry best before date had passed.

They still shouldn't be disregarded. The defense is relatively the same and the Bucs offense have yet to figure it out.

We have a very different take on that Saints team.

  • They've beaten the **** out of the Brady Bucs in every regular season game.
  • They're going from 0 legit Wrs to 2 legit WRs and a potential legit rookie WR.
  • They've redone their safety position, and upgraded it.
  • They're getting back their starting QB, who was 5-2 for them last year, prior to injury.

When you add in the likelihood that the Bucs' OL is likely to be weaker, due to the loss of Marpet, which means that the Saints are probably going to have the big edge of their DL pressuring Brady again, I'm just not seeing anything that you're seeing here.
