Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

So looks like Dallas saints packers and chiefs with first 2 on the road and all 4 probably without Godwin.

The other wrinkle of now knowing Bucs' first four opponents is it's that much more likely they'll face Arizona with DeAndre Hopkins (6-game suspension) and Cleveland with Deshaun Watson (still TBD).

Bucs' six NFC South games are split up throughout the season -- in Weeks 2, 5, 7, and then Weeks 11, 17 and 18. Closing with Carolina and at Atlanta shouldn't be too tough a finish, compared to the challenging start.

The end of the Bucs' season, after Munich and the bye week, is seven straight weeks alternating home and away. First half is the opposite, all in chunks -- two road, three home, two road, two home, then off to Germany.

The headliner is definitely the Bucs not only playing on Christmas day for the first time, but doing it far from home against Arizona. It's Dec. 25 at 8:20 p.m. ET. ... They also open the New Year at home with a 1 p.m. game Jan. 1 vs. Carolina in Tampa.

Bucs have the maximum five prime-time games in 2022 -- Sunday night vs. Cowboys, Chiefs, Cardinals, plus a Thursday vs. Ravens, Monday vs. Saints.

We also learn Bucs' preseason slate tonight -- home vs. Dolphins on Aug. 13, then at the Titans, at the Colts.

Bucs 2022 schedule:

Wk 1 @ Dallas (SNF)
Wk 2 @ NO
Wk 3 v GB
Wk 4 v KC (SNF)
Wk 5 v Atl
Wk 6 @ Pit
Wk 7 @ Car
Wk 8 v Bal (TNF)
Wk 9 v LAR
Wk 10 v Sea (Germany)
Wk 11 Bye
Wk 12 @ Cle
Wk 13 v NO (MNF)
Wk 14 @ SF
Wk 15 v Cin
Wk 16 @ Ari (Christmas)
Wk 17 v Car
Wk 18 @ Atl

First of all Godwin will be there week 1 easily.

Second, Bucs are getting both the Chiefs and Packers early in the season while they have to still adjust to their prior seasons offenses having been obliterated by losing their league best game breaking receivers. And the Packers losing their #2 guy as well.

And it being week 3 and 4 and not 1 and 2 is better because there will be tape to watch.

Conversely the Cardinals collapse down the stretch every single year so the Bucs getting them in week 16 is good.

He tore it week 15 and stated back end of march or april that he doesn't have a timetable. There's a chance he plays yes but 'easily' is almost as ridiculous as the time you praised BA for blowing his top and forcing a lunatic WR to lose it on the sidelines. Where's BA now? How did the playoffs go without any WRs?

Yo @Deus Irae, how come I never see you on the Pats board anymore?

What gives?

I can’t speak for him but are we allowed to make fun of the absolutely comical train wreck that is the Patriots coaching staff and how I openly want it to fail because I think Matt Patricia is a loser piece of crap both on and off the field and avoiding him being Bill’s “succession plan” is my largest priority for this team going forward? If not then I don’t have much to say day to day.

By all means, stay right here where you belong -- a servile vassal in Dis Array's little Bucs fiefdom.

I don't post there as often as I used to. And it's the offseason, so less posting is to be expected.

But you can still find me posting in the meme thread, this thread, the cooking thread, and the occasional main board thread (the Gino and Stidham threads today/yesterday, for example).

I kinda love the way the Bucs schedule is set up! The first 4 weeks is pretty much the toughest stretch of their schedule. If they can come out of that 3 - 1 or 2 - 2 they'll be set up perfectly the rest of the way! Them playing the Ravens on Thursday Night Football then getting 10 days to prep & get ready for the Rams game should be a + too! You also made me realize that getting both the Packers & Chiefs early on is actually a great thing! The battle for the 1 seed is most likely going to be between the Bucs,Packers & possibly Cowgirls! There's no chance in hell that the Rams get it with that gauntlet of schedule! They'll definitely win the NFC West though!

Pats are in purgatory mediocrity. Not bad enough to get a top pick and not good enough to be a serious SB contender. They’re boring.

The good thing going for the Pats is that many of the AFC SB contenders have sold their soul in an arms race to win the SB now. They will pay the devil's cap price in 2 or 3 years and that is when the Pats should be aiming to be SB contenders again.

I agree.

I'm also not sure Bill will still be HC when the window opens. Hopefully he is and they can make one more run before he retires.

Y there’s no knowing when Godwin will be back but Gronk, Evans, Gage , and Grayson is still legit
