Sometimes you just never know who may show up at Gillette Stadium.
On Wednesday, during the second week of Patriots organized team activities, a five time champion was in attendance and he wasn’t named Tom Brady.
NBA Legend and former Los Angeles Laker Kobe Bryant was invited out by the team for a meet and greet and spoke with members of the Patriots after practice. A few Patriots such as Eric Rowe, Stephon Gilmore, and Cody Hollister shared photographs with the basketball icon over their social media accounts.
According to ESPN Boston’s Mike Reiss, one player said Bryant was “Just hanging out and dropping some knowledge.”
Past famous visits to Foxboro in recent years have ranged from musicians Bon Jovi and Kenny Chesney to coaches from other sports such as Boston Celtics Head Coach Brad Stevens and Hall of Fame baseball manager Tony LaRussa.
For a franchise thats been quoted recently as being “no fun”, it appears the players that did attend today’s OTA’s were rewarded with some memories they’ll never forget.
As Patriots players returned to work in the voluntary offseason program on Wednesday, they were greeted by a celebrity guest from a different sport: Kobe Bryant.
