The fact that you are spelling his name incorrectly is losing credibility j/k. Like I said AVP was involved, didn't say he created them all but did say involved maybe as a sounding board.
You didn’t say he was a sounding board, you said he designed the plays.
Yes, he was employed and was delegated some work. He wasn’t making decisions about the scheme, or the personnel, he was coaching what was given to him to coach.
That’s not what a real coordinator does.

I said involved and if a person acts a sounding board that is in fact involved. Opinions given and suggestions offered is involved.

I forgot what my original question was. Damn sometimes you just like to argue. **** man

Kurt Warner is a HOF player and his analysis is usually spot on. Enough of bias . If he says something we ought to listen especially AVP. He is much better than Bedards or felger and mazz that we occasionally tune into.

Didn’t watch the video but assuming he blasts Avp? He wouldn’t be the only one. Ive watched a couple all 22’s on drake’s performance and both guys seemed to hate avp’s offense. Though one was sort of impressed by our wr’s , especially pop of course. But the feeling is he’s going to severely limit drake’s potential. Im hoping for the best but id hope we’re open to moving on if theres better options next year.

You keep changing your claim. Of course I argue when you say he drained the plays and I say he didn’t and you say he must have been a sounding board so that’s the same thing.

You have yet to acknowledge what you said that disagreed with is wrong.

I have not looked at any Cleveland Browns tape from the last few years, but does AVP utilize different spacing when he has a strong armed QB as opposed to JB? I also have a problem with some of his play designs but am willing to see how it plays out before I jump on the fire AVP train.

Against the Texans AVP put used gun more than he did with JB because Maye is seemingly more comfy in the gun. That makes me think that AVP is willing to adapt to his QB but now can he spread the defense horizontally? I do agree with Booty (yes that is how I am spelling it), the offense is not aggressive, but the was 5 weeks of JB and Maye can unlock more aggression so I am hopeful for AVP.
Initial question. When I said I did not watch Browns tape, but does AVP utilize different spacing with a stronger armed QB. I will accept that it could have been interpreted as me asking if the Browns offense could answer that question because without a doubt it was AVP that designed all of the plays with no input from Stefanski, the man that called the plays. I also understand that you don't know me and had to assume that I thought AVP called plays despite that it has been discussed numerous times on this forum that AVP is a first time play caller.

I never said AVP designed plays in Cleveland, but did mention that I have a problem with some of his designs. That was meant to mean here in New England and I am sorry that you didn't make that jump. I assumed when I said let it play out before I jump on the fire AVP train that it was clear I meant here.

Stephanski ran the offense in Cleveland.
Your response
Stefanski called plays, but AVP was involved in play design. Maybe it was more Stefanski though
My response that clearly said involved
No it was Stephanskis offense. AVP did the tasks of an OC (like running practice and meetings) but Stephansky designed the offense, made the personnel decisions and called the plays.

Why in the world would stephansky have AVP create a playbook for stephansky to call plays from?
Your response that assumed me saying involved meant create.

Your response telling me I changed my claim. You also told me you argue when I said AVP designed plays (Which I didn't say and you assumed. I will acknowledge that we have had a misunderstanding.

I will ask again, Since Stefanski and AVP have similar outlooks on the west coast offense and there is some overlap based on old Viking, Browns and our tape. Does the Browns offense utilize different spacing with a stronger armed QB?

Sorry that I seemed to cause quite the spat.

And yes I am quite an ******* but I thought this exercise was kinda fun

They weren’t playing prevent defense until the last drive that ended the game. Douglas’ 17 yarder and 35 yard TD on the two scoring drives both came against single high blitzes.

Thanks and I think I agree. Poor wording on my part? You thought that "prevent defense" meant zone coverage?

On the Douglas TD there were 7 Texans in the box and 5 rushed Maye. I guess you can say that 5 rushers is a blitz since it is more than 4 rushers, but clearly that is a stretch to me. I am not sure 5 rushers is a blitz. So yes, you are technically correct because it was not 2 high, but 7 guys in the box and 5 rushers (which you call a blitz) is a type of prevent defense to me with the Pats playing 4 wide.

Maybe we can agree to disagree? Since the Texans were dominating the whole game, maybe we can agree that two of Maye's 3 TDs were in garbage time after the game was already decided?

Other than rambling confusion (when you change your story to “sounding board” and my response was you didn’t say sounding board, I am referring to you changing your story. Yes you said it and I was pointing out that you didn’t say it originally. I thought that was basic comprehension) why knows what AVPs outlook is? He was a coach on a staff that ran Stefanskys offense, that doesn’t mean he thinks that way himself.
He may be trying to copy Stefansky and doing it poorly, he may have created his own scheme and doesn’t put proper emphasis on spacing. Whatever it is he’s doing poorly.

I don’t think you understand what prevent defense is

Kurt is killing the scheme, yet Maye threw for 250 yards and 3 tds in his first game.

Kurt is not a hall of fame player.
Bro was badass slinging the football left on islands created by Mike Martz and took the hits. He went to 3 Super Bowls with two different teams and won one. In 2000, the Rams were on pace to obliterate offensive records and would've made it unreachable for the 2007 Pats had it not been for injuries.

He's absolutely a HOF.

Could be. Care to explain?
Prevent defense is designed to prevent big plays and allow underneath stuff. That doesn’t sound like what you are describing with 7 in the box and 5 rushing.
Prevent would have 6-7 dbs and play way back.
