Watching the Charger game was deja vu all over again.
Reminded me of the Patriot game earlier this year when EIGHT highly questionable calls/non-calls ALL went the Colts way.
Same thing happened yesterday with the Chargers. Refs did everything humanly possible to throw the game the Colts way. They also tried and failed to job the Steelers a couple of years ago with yet another mysterious PI call in a playoff game.
This nonsense has got to stop! Makes the league look really really bad.
What is going on in Indy that makes so many game officials sully themselves with such shocking frequency?? Doesn't smell right!!!

It is absolutely disgusting that no one in the media will ever stand up and say something about this.

Hell, I was really wishing Norv would have said something his press conference, the man was as heated as I was the whole game.

Start with Polian. It all begins and ends there.

I agree. If the Chargers had lost yesterday's game, I would have stopped watching the NFL. No point in watching a game if the outcome is already determined thanks to the cheating refs. The NFL tries to set up perfect playoff matches so that they can get high ratings.

They really wanted the Colts to advance to the AFC Championship game so they could get really high ratings and talk about Brady vs. Manning all week long. I would be perfectly fine with that happening as long as the Colts win on their own. Atleast twice now in the playoffs the refs have tried to help the Colts win: yesterday against the Chargers and two years ago against the Steelers.

I was worried the Chargers win would make everyone forget the officiating, but I was glad to see some stories mention it today, especially that "holding" call before the half. A complete disgrace.

But one thing I haven't seen mentioned today is the incessant buzzing noise that everyone could hear at certain points for pretty much the entire game. It sounded like an airplane taking off! What the f**k??

You can at least make an argument (though a bad one) for the holding call. THe DPI was completely absurd though

Did anyone else see Gerry Austin wink and nod when Manning was asking the call? I think it was on the Cromartie interception.

You can beat a lot of Chargers players as well as Norv would have spoken up had the Chargers lost the game yesterday. Two big phantom calls that could have cost the Chargers the game and yet the NFL pretends that everything is fair.

Watched NFL Primetime last night, and - shocking - not even as much as a side comment was made about the holding call.

I can’t wait for Tony to leave and the downward spiral of the Colts to begin.

It sounded more like when you put a microphone next to some electronics. A weird echo sound. Do you think the Colts are pumping in crowd noise?

I don't believe all these conspiracy theories about the refs implementing some big money-making scheme of the NFL. It is more likely to be either 1) General incompetence, 2) Individual biases of the refs, or 3) Ref has balls being squeezed by the mob. I pick a mixture of 1 and 2, with 1 the most likely.

People have been saying that crap about the Pats all year.

Please let us know if the NFL network looks at those plays with the head of officiating: those segments are just great. I think they do it in the 'Playbook' show.

My dad swears that when Don Shula was on the competition committee, Miami was never flagged. He thinks the same is true with Polian.

I honestly think that whoever the NFL annoints to be the next team that they think can dethrone the Pats will get calls like this. If the Colts rebound from this next year and it's all "Colts v. Pats" talk again, then it will be the Colts, if not, it may be the Chargers (ironically) depending on how this weekend goes.

Unfortunately, this is a null issue because the Chargers won. Had they lost, I could see a bigger issue arising. However, I have seen Peter King, Mark Schlereth, and Don Banks discussed the lopsided calls.

The difference is, people - not just Pats fans - have been saying about this about the Colts for years.

Here we are, 3 years after one of the most disgustingly called games in NFL History ('05/06 Divisional IND/PIT) and we're still talking about this.

Honestly after every big play San Diego made yesterday, I couldn’t enjoy until 5 seconds later, expecting a flag each time.

I think if someone with the required IT smarts were to set up a site and have NFL fans sign up in an effort to have the situation looked at maybe something might be done. Where there is smoke there is fire. If this continues I will not watch the NFL, and that would be a shame. Something stinks.

They national sports media made such a stink about the horrendous 2005 officiating. You know the phantom PI call on Samuel in Denver. The Pittsburgh pick against Manning that was ruled incomplete even though it was obvious to everyone except the official. Among other things. Don't even get me started on SB XL. I thought for sure the NFL would be embarrassed into fixing the situation. Instead all we get is lame explanations from Mike Pereira and business as usual.

Same here. After that bogus holding call, I was expecting a flag on every touchdown we made. I don't know how we won that game considering that all the odds were against us. We won it with our backups too which says a lot. I guess it's karma. If you cheat, you'll lose(unless you're the Patriots).

I think you left out the most obvious reason: 4) They are influenced by 60,000 born agains screaming at 130 decibels.

That's pretty bad, coming in here and getting sympathy from Pats' fans, then taking that shot. How many games did the Pats win this year because of cheating?
