Well, it depends on the person. Its been said that backup NFL QB is the best job in the world, and if you aren't genetically programmed to be hyper-competitive, you might take it. Of course, getting to this point without having that competitive temperament is tough.

I think we prepare to trade for Cooks because we can control negotiations and have him cap friendly for 2 years vs get in a all out bidding war I dont see us getting in a bidding war for Desean Jackson.

He wouldn't replace anyone, he would immediately become their #1 receiver and Edelman's targets would be reduced, which is fine by me because I'm not sure how much longer Edelman can withstand the beatings he is taking every week. And as much as I would hate to see it Amendola's spot on this team would be in jeopardy.
