What you are saying makes sense except...
Pats were 0-2 in first 2 Super Bowls
Pats were 3-0 in next 3 Super Bowls
Pats were 2-2 in the last 4
Fixed.

There is a difference between seeking a fair profit and seeking to eek out every last penny. That used to be understood by most people. Today, we justify all manner of bad behaviors under the heading of "just business" because of that drive to make every possible penny, and we are morally and spiritually worse off for it.
I don't see how this issue applies to bad behavior that makes us morally or spiritually worse. There is a difference between seeking a fair profit and seeking to eek out every last penny. Yep. It just happens to bands. Look at the Rolling Stones. Every album after Exile on Main St was just ok or crappy
Same with U2. Everything after Achtung Baby is ok to meh. Then they had that dance music phase. Christ. All That You Cant Leave Behind was a good comeback and Atomic Bomb was decent but it isn't in the same ballpark as the earlier stuff. Everything since has been meh.
With that said I've purchased every lick of music they've churned out and have seen them in concert dozens of times since AB.
The Joshua Tree concert at Gillette was awesome.

Overcharging people displaced from them homes due to a natural disaster food food shelter or clothing would fit the evil side you bring up. Negotiating a contract with a performer at an event seems not even in the vicinity.

So your supposed competitive advantage doesn't seem to be showing up.
Correct. The quality of their studio work is on the downswing. Concerts are fine.Ok.....so you don’t like some of their newer music....Same here....the free one was garbage
That said, just as their most recent concert displayed, and the half dozen or so since the 90s that I have been to, they at definitely not in their downswing
They have nothing to do with the stones
Here's the perfect option for the Super Bowl Halftime show:
I'm pretty sure she won't argue about the gate receipts.
Bring back Carol Channing!
That's not surprising
Can't tell if you are being sarcastic.Don't you think Jay-Z should get paid for his performance? It's absurd to make top performers pay the $12 billion per year NFL for the honor of rapping for The Man. This is one for Signs of the Apocalypse in SI.
Personally, I have never watched the Super Bowl half time show. I'm quite proud of that. I'm here to watch football, not "performing artists".I think that real football fans don't care much who does the halftime show. It's for the people at the parties who don't even know what teams are playing. I for one would be fine with a marching band!

I do not care a lick what jay z is it isn't paid.
If the market dictates he be paid 10 mill then the owners need to pay 10 mill or find someone else.
If the market dictates playing the halftime show is a career boosting event that makes it worthwhile to pay for the opportunity then jay z needs to decide if it's worth it to him.
This is simple economics. People are trying to make it a morality or social issue when it isn't.
