Did Shea McClellin practice? I gather that he did not.

He caught 2 passes for 25 yards. How does that impress you?
He is a jag.
If he has to make 6 cuts to get open that should tell you something.

All I'm doing is telling you what he did to us last game. And come on, 6 cuts? really?

What he did to us was be a below average starting WR who didn't produce.

Honestly I see sanu as a jag.
Gabriel is a speed threat but hardly a major consistently productive wr.

Sanu's career high is 59 receptions and his career avg us under 12 ypc.
Never understood why people think this guy is anything special.
Gabriel had 99 catches in his 3 year career before this year and 14 so far in 2017.

The strength of this offense is jones, and the RBs.
Point being, the talent of the depth at WR is likely better than anything we've seen this year. Or so I believe.

Combine that with missing the #1 and #3 CB and it doesn't provide for a favorable matchup on that side of the ball.

No doubt missing 2 starting corners is a concern.
But almost every team out there has a number 2 as good as sanu and Gabriel just hasn't produced enough to make me think he is someone to be scared of. Without Julio this would be a crap wr unit. What has made this a good offense is the threats of the RB the use of the TE Julio and a good QB.
The other WRs are NFL caliber and could have a big day at any time but they don't present a special problem
that every other offense doesnt have.

Just my opinion and I just have a pet peeve with overeating a wr who doesn't produce even average levels.

That may be, but what he also did to us, was what I just said. And I'm sure there's a lot of people on this forum who would find my info useful.

Not to be that guy and pile on but I looked at sanu's stats.
He has never had a 100 yard game in 22 games in Atlanta and 17 of his 22 games were less than 60.

If you include his time in cincy in 76 games he has 100 twice and less than 60 yards 62 times

Perhaps he is a good gauge. If he torched us we really suck on d.

So twice he ran a route where he ran one way then turned back and ran the other, like the welkeresque jerk route and that is your response to my comment he is a jag? Ok. Thanks.

Might as well spread Gabriel's stats too.

21 games in atl.
Most catches 5.
3 games of 5
2 of 4
7 of 3
9 of 2 or less

0 100 yard games
1 82 yard game
5 70-79
3 50-69
12 less than 50

I think the difference is:

Jones--Sanu--Gabriel

Vs

Jones--Gabriel--Hardy/Hall

To me, that makes a noticeable difference. I don't know if I'd be concerned about getting torched by him, but he has a physical presence that can be exploited if he's up against JAG corners, which is most definitely what we have at the moment. We'll see what happens on Sunday. Fingers crossed.

Haha! If you're not going to read what I wrote. Why even reply?

Whether he plays and gets his average of about 4 catches for 46 yards or someone else is in there doesn't make much of a difference to me. That's kind of my point. Whatever he gets the next guy up will. He is just a jag getting the scraps left over from it created by Julio and the RBs.

We don't need to agree because it's player evaluation so there is a lot of room for disagreement but sanu is the epitome of a jag to me.
I'd actually rather have him out there than Gabriel because Gabriel issue is he is small, frail and not durable but is certainly capable of a random big play or 2 to affect a game.

Once the season starts what he is paid is irrelevant.
He is playing more than 5 snaps per game also.

Last game he played 5 snaps

The game before that when gronk played he only played 9 snaps

He is hardly getting any time, even for blocking. And their have been games where his blocking was questionable like when he allowed Deion Lewis to get blown up in the backfield because he got lazy on a 3rd down block against the panthers.

As far as catching footballs, he has been embarrassingly awful. 6 games in and still hasn’t caught a pass

He has the 8th highest cap hit on the team.....yuck!!!

I read what you wrote. You were impressed that he managed 2 catches by running jerk routes and consider that "killing Rowe" while I consider it poor production from a starting wr and a guy who contributed to them losing by not even having a decent day when Julio got 4 targets.
What did I miss?

What does that make Dwayne Allen then who has 0 catches?

How does that apply to my post that once the season starts what he makes is irrelevant and that he is playing more than 5 snaps per game.
Hint playing 5 snaps per game is not how you describe someone whose LEAST snaps were 5.

What does that make Dwayne Allen then who has 0 catches?
What does a backup TE who is primarily asked to block and has 1 target per game have to do with a starting WR2 in a game where the WR1 sees 4 targets?

Are you expecting allen to produce like a wr2?

But he hardly blocks considering he plays less than 10 percent of patriot snaps per game

What is he primarily asked to do these days? Warm the bench?

TE2s, even the lesser ones have contributed much more than Allen has in the passing game. And contributed just as much blocking wise. And have typically gotten to play more snaps
