Hey, Let's make this pleasant thought day. BB is on a roll. Let's take a shot here. Gordon is scary with his one more drop sentence hanging over every Team he is on now or the future. Hue is cleaning house faster than Howie on the Eagles even thought about. At this rate Hue is going to have $4 billion dollars under the CAP in 2017. Nice to offer Hue picks but he needs more than that.
Someone astutely mentioned the low high game. We start there. I say give the Browns two sixth rounders (we have 100 of them anyway) this year and a third if he was a good soldier and appeared in all the 2016 games, in the 2017 Draft.....plus a couple players just so Hue has some bodies for this year so he can make a splash in 2017. Whoa is you to the poor Brown fans this season.
They need a Guard and WR desperately just to fill a line up. Two picks and a definite-maybe in 2017 is a big haul for someone that Roger will have a 24/7 tail (ex-KGB) on Gordon if he joins the Pats. He best not even use salad dressing. Now add a couple players.
Two ideas?
-Maybe a fresh start for Aaron Dobson is in the cards.
-We extended Kline. His salary is workable. With Cooper that pushes him down the depth chart but he is still serviceable and was decent in the beginning of last year.
You think two sixths, a third and two players that will probably not see much time here, are fair wampum for Gordon? Maybe the two above make sense.
We understand Gordon wants out but he is still a huge gamble for the Pats.
The standard, "You are crazy, the Browns will never do that" response is expected, but analyze this move for both Teams.
Kline is a need for them. They lost 2 key O line studs. Kline is an Ohio kid. He was a starter here. He might turn out better than John Cooper but you can go with potential if you are the Pats.
Dobson is in his final contract year anyway. The Browns are not bogged down to keep him if he flops there, but it is a fresh start for the kid. He is a throw in but fills a Browns need. They need WR after they cut Bowe, they lost Travis Benjamin to FA and Hartline is coming back from IR. If Dobson comes back to his rookie season stats it is a good trade for the Browns. If Gordon screws up the Browns get nada. There is no guarantee on Gordon that he says clean.
Nobody is going to give the Browns a high picks for Gordon even if they decide to trade him. Is this enough?
Thoughts.
