Is this season proof that Brady needs Belichick?

All the make believe and excuse making in the world the haters engage in does nothing to change the following facts:

1) Brady won a Super Bowl his first year away from Belichick
2) In almost 10 years as an HC without Brady, Belichick has won all of 1 playoff game

"Anything short of a Super Bowl championship and Brady is a failure in Tampa!" - haters, 2020
"Anything short of 2 Super Bowl championships and Brady is a failure in Tampa!" - haters, 2022
Without Brady Bill's record resembles Wrecks Ryan's.

LOL. Brady won a SB with a clown at HC and then led the NFL in every single major passing category last year.

No. This is just copium from some Pats fans - more specifically, belichick worshippers

It's the same thing when they do the whole "Hey guys, the Pats and Buccaneers have a similar record hurr durr" shtick. This is the 3rd year in a row, and it'll probably end with Tampa being ahead of us again.

That's the bottom line?

And all the different things they do means naught?

You need to redefine two things - what bottom line means and what honest means.

A honest bottom line comparison would be Brady to Bledsoe. Same position, different results. Compare Belichick to Shula. Same position, different results.

Trying to make a comparison between Brady and Belichick is nonsense. It's anything but honest.
Not when Belichick people have for years spewed this notion that he could win with anyone.

In 2019, Pats fans were legit saying we should have traded Brady and kept Garopollo and that "we would have won in 2018 with Garopollo".

They were saying Brady become a diva.

In the 2020 off-season, there were Pats fans talking about being interested in watching Stidham play. They said they grew tired of Brady and wanted to see the dynasty continue.

And since then, they keep on trying to compare Mac/Zappe to Brady, and keep bringing up how "in 2001 Brady was a game manager"

All that implies how highly they think of Belichick - they think the GOAT QB is that replaceable and that Belichick can plug in, and coach up a new QB and win rings with them. And that Brady needed Belichick for his first couple rings.

When you have people who set up this narrative, they're effectively saying that Belichick is as valuable - or more valuable - to an organization than an elite QB.

So its no wonder that people are gonna see it through the end, even when Brady won a ring and Belichick might miss the playoffs for the 2nd time in 3 seasons post Brady.

One has won without the other and one hasn't. That's the bottom line evaluation. Brady's original impact on the Patriots franchise was immediate and sustained on an unprecedented level. His departure from the franchise also had an immediate impact... they haven't won the division after having won 16 in a row with Brady. His impact on the Bucs franchise was also immediate. Brady has already proven he can win without Belichick and that's not a reversible conclusion.

It's not that black and white; there were/are many factors in play, chief among them relative roster strength. The Pats roster bottomed out in 2020, the Bucs roster was brimming with star talent. The Pats have been rebuilding since, the Bucs have more or less maintained.

In 2020, it was "Brady single handedly won the super bowl with a bum coach and a bunch of stiffs for teammates!" In 2021, it was "Brady's coaches and teammates let him down!' This year, it's "it's all Gisele's fault!"

You do realize there's a reason for that, right? Brady has thrown the ball (more passing attempts) more than anyone else over the past three years...

Also, this year Brady has 12 touchdowns and 2 INTs through 10 games...he may or may not even get to 20 touchdowns on the season LOL. That's a major drop off from the 44 touchdowns he had last year. What's your excuse? And nearly 50% of his passing yards this year are YAC yards....

Remarkably, some of those same fans and mediots wanted to give Cant Newton the pay increase and extension that they and Bill didn't want to give Brady. And every one of them has been proven wrong for doubting Brady. Some people never learn.

This season proves what I already know and see every week. Coaches don't win games, players do. Coaches can only lose them.

Given the play of the defense coupled with the division we are playing in, and observing that the Patriots are still in last place, is this season proof that Belichick needs Brady?

With the more talented team, Brady has the same record as Bill does as of today, so we'd still be in last place in the AFCE with Brady. Also, the AFCE has never been better than it is now. At no point during Brady's 20 years here were the Dolphins, Bills, and Jets good at the same time.

With Brady playing the way he is this season, we’re likely in first place instead of last place. The question remains.

Mac 10 “dinker and dunker” - maybe he should stay that way so he doesn’t throw all those picks.

He's number 1 in playoff INTs...

He's 2nd in the league in yards but half of those are YAC anyway

I wasn’t talking about the GOAT and when you play almost double the number of playoff games over the second place QB in those rankings you’re probably going to collect a few ints.

Sorry, I got confused as to which dinker and dunker you were talking about. A few? 47 playoff games, 39 INTs lol

Maybe you’ll be just as amused by this :)

Ints/playoff games ratio
Tom Brady: 0.83
Joe Montana 0.91
Peyton Manning 0.93
John Elway 0.95
Troy Aikman 1.06

Looks like yet another W for the greatest QB who ever lived.

You forgot one guy...

Patrick Mahomes: 0.63

Who has literally less than 1/4 of the playoff experience that the GOAT has. Going back to my original point that a QB who has almost double the playoff games of the next highest QB in that category is probably going to collect a few ints along the way.

Don't worry he's coming...and he can throw a deep ball consistently well unlike the top guy on your list

Oh, so the guy who has more passing attempts than anyone else is going to collect a few more yards and touchdowns along the way...got it
