Funny thing is until this past game, the last preseason game where Zap didn't take the most number of snaps was in 2021.Zappe should play almost all of Game 3, plus he is insurance in case someone else in injured before the final cut.
Maybe being cautious with Maye makes sense. Look at J.J. McCarthy.
If last night wasn't telling that Biscuit sucks I don't know what to tell his bridge supporters. I think the bridge Idea have already been torn up.To me Brisk is QB4 right now. Great mentor and knows the AVP, so he'll most likely still be QB1, but man... 4 preseason series with three 3 and outs and one ending in an INT. No starts and 46 total snaps last year.
Don't talk to me about practice. Mac was an All Pro at practice.
Do you still think we should sit Maye knowing we have a budding Hofer in front of him who can't even make a decent throw against Backups??Not to the people who didn’t want them to pick him, they want him in there now. They want to be entertained.
Unchanged. I think there's going to be a honeymoon period with Mayo, like we saw in Vegas last year. I think the offense is going to be improved, but they don't have to be a **** ton better than last year to be improved. I think they'll be mid pack offensively, better than average defensively. Depth is a concern, especially at the OL and RB positions. Polk and Baker are going to be very good, but I am a little short on saying stars. I think there's a chance they are right around .500.@Steve102 on the real how do you really feel about this Team now??
Tough schedule in 2024. Close to .500 would be a nice accomplishment.Unchanged. I think there's going to be a honeymoon period with Mayo, like we saw in Vegas last year. Milton and Maye should take all the snaps in PS game 3Zappe should play almost all of Game 3, plus he is insurance in case someone else in injured before the final cut.
I don't think they protect Milton at cutdown. Brissett doesn't look any better than Zappe. I think I like Zappe as Maye's backup rather than Brissett. After that putrid OL performance against the Eagles, Mayo and Wolf must be having nightmares of Maye’s mangled body being carted off the field. I put it at 95%. Woohoo, carrying 4! Zappemonium!
That's what even I felt . Zappe would be a good backup if not for his desire of wanting to be a starter despite his limitations.I don't think they protect Milton at cutdown. Brissett doesn't look any better than Zappe. I think I like Zappe as Maye's backup rather than Brissett.
His ass should’ve been kicked to the curb already (Zappe).I'm not convinced that the "toxic QB room" last season was all Mac Jones. I think Zappe had just as much to do with that too.
I've heard something similar, but was never able to find anything remotely confirmatory. To be fair to both players, with the amount of hurries, hits and sacks those two had to take, I'd not be surprised if both of them were putting up a stink at times.I'm not convinced that the "toxic QB room" last season was all Mac Jones. if I were him, i would give Canada a tryI very much doubt Zappe will endure the PS yoyo this season. He's 25. He wants to be on someone's 53 or playing elsewhere (maybe Canada). They can put him in a protected slot, but that only stops another team from signing him during the two week contract. He can just wait a few days until the contract ends and then sign. He's too good for the PS. He'll be a decent backup for someone (Vikings?).
The problem is there is no guarantee Zappe stays on the PS. He's too good for the PS. He's an NFL backup with solid experience as a starter. He's won games. That's going to be exactly what some other team needs this season at some point. If you decide he goes to PS, you absolutely cannot plan on him being there if you need him. It's 53, or make some other plan which does not include Zappe.Brissett is what you get when you decide to only spend $8 million on a QB. That's experienced backup money. He isn't Alex Smith. I think they want Maye to beat him out, but they also have (and should have) very real concerns about putting Maye out there behind those tackles. I'd keep Zappe handy on the practice squad, but I'm also curious about putting Milton out there and seeing what he could do.
