Any fan that saw Bret Lockett lying on the ground at Raymond James Stadium writhing in pain Thursday night found out on Saturday just how painful it must have been.
According to Jeff Howe of NESN, Lockett suffered a Torn Groin and Abdomen that will likely sideline him the 2011 season.
Lockett suffered the injury on a punt in the second quarter of New England's 31-14 win over the Buccaneers, and was immediately carted off the field. The news is disappointing for the 24-year old, because he's had a decent camp and was also expected to potentially battle for a spot at the safety position.
It's just another bit of bad luck for Lockett, who also spent last season on IR with a chest injury.
