I think this makes a helluva lot more sense than the notion that he wrote his article and that some random Patriots fan happened to know the type of car he drove, and where it was located at the time, and then slashed the tires, all within a few hours time.Doyel writes a lot of articles slamming the Colts. To assume it was Patriots fans is a little insane considering he lives in Indianapolis. How many Pats fans actually live in Indy? It is more likely a Colts' fan slashed his tire.
But Doyel is so mentally unbalanced, I wouldn't put it past him to slash his own tire to blame Patriots fans.

Did you even look at the pic? That jagged gash was clearly caused by and impact with a yellow painted curb. A slash from a knife would be a lot smoother and wouldn't leave paint all over the tire.Doyel writes a lot of articles slamming the Colts. Pretty much. My opinion on Doyel is still that he can go **** himself. The Pats are playing the Colts this Sunday. Local media douche writes an outrageous article to fire fans up for the game. Case closed.
We are talking about him, so he is achieving his goal. Doyel is a master troll. If you thinking starting a thread, pointing out his logical inconsistencies and stupidity will somehow defeat him, you have already lost at his game.
If this is me playing the lame homer card, fine. The Patriots cheated the team in my city. Residents of Indianapolis and the surrounding areas, you give the Colts the best you’ve got: money, emotion, more. The Patriots rigged the AFC title game. Cheated the Colts. Cheated you.
The Colts should give this game the best they’ve got, not because it’s the Patriots but because it’s the next game on the schedule, and the next game is always the most important game. Besides, only a scared team would sit a healthy quarterback.
Only a scared team would cheat, too.
Let’s not be scared around here, OK? Let’s not be anything like the franchise coming to town on Sunday.
Does anyone know how well these kind of writers do financially? I suppose from the newspaper's point of view, it doesn't make sense to pay a real journalist a real salary when you can hire a moron for $50 and get the same amount of web hits.
I really am curious about whether people can actually make a decent living by simply writing this tripe. Does he have a day job? A trust fund? Mow lawns on the side? Deal meth?
Anyone know?
Ive read that doyel has mental issues, if that the case he shouldn't be writing opinion pieces to troll other teams fan bases. He should be concentrating on getting his issues resolved as best he can. I have no sympathy for him.Won't bother linking to today's column* (I follow Fitzy on Twitter, as I'm sure some of you do, so you can get it there), but Doyel seriously has issues. It's embarrassing how much his columns meander and whine. I know mental health is nothing to laugh at, but his editors really need to intervene.
*OK, gist:
"We" thought this would be Brady's first game, but instead he and the Pats have been awesome and it's the Colts who have been terrible and have their franchise QB returning rusty (and ailing). Then he shifts with what I guess is supposed to be a transition:
Then he says his argument (the Pats cheated), might be a "strawman," which is a "dishonest" tactic, so "perfect for the Patriots." Riiigghhht. Then he goes after Pats fans for being beligerent (Hey Greg: Our attitude came in handy around 1776, so just thank us) in saying the Pats are rolling because they are mad. "As if the Patriots have any right to their anger." Funny stuff.
Then, oddly, he closes (no transition this time) with a sentence about how the real issue this week is Luck.
Seakelp.
To the above poster. I almost laughed when he claimed the Patriots cheated the team in his city.
My memory must be going bye bye but didn't the Pats score 28 points in the 2nd half with Kensils new balls?
They should feel cheated by their owner and gm for putting such a porous defense on the field.
Somewhere there was a column, but I couldn't find it; the twitter feed will have to do.
Somewhere I recall seeing that his whole 'Pats fans slashed my tire' line was exposed as a huge lie.
Photos of the tire - that Doyel himself published - showed paint on the sidewalls.
In other words Doyel drove recklessly and hit a curb, got a flat, and then seized the opportunity to blame it on a fan of the Patriots.
I am aware of Doyel's struggle with depression.
