If Jerruh had pushed out Roger then Jerruh would have been the power broker on who the next Commissioner would be.

Roger won and everyone else lost because Roger is still in charge.

Ironically, what Jerruh was saying is right, that the contract had too many giveaways to Roger and that Park Avenue has become a bloated mess.

However, he totally blew his strategy and in the end he would have been better off saving his ammo for a better fight.

Doesn't really make sense. All the owners have a say in whether Goodell is kept. If they all voted to get rid of Goodell what new power does Jones gain?

I'm sure there are at least a dozen candidates more qualified than Roger to take charge of that position, they just never bothered to look for anyone else.

I read all the thread. So many here hate the NFL and what's it become. They say they will be gone when Brady is gone.

OK, so, you want to watch the NFL when your team is winning. Fine. Of course, many of you left after the first 2 games of the year.

I'm a relatively new patriot fan, only since 1980; some here have been fans for much longer. There were fine teams before Belichick and Brady. We will have some water they are gone. Of course, nothing can ever match what they have given us. We've had the long time fans and those who com only with wins.

For me, Kraft is very, very under-rated here. We almost didn't have team. St Louis or Hartford almost had the team. And Kraft turned the team around, built the stadium and the franchise BEFORE Belichick was hired and before Brady played a game.

For me, Goodell is a total side issue. The owners and Kraft have given me the greatest sports experiences of my life. I don't watch other sports, other than Olympics and ice skating with my wife. The NFL, the NFL draft, and free agency has been my hobby for all my life.

I don't care who the owners hire. I want there to be a good CBA. I want the players health (physical and monetary) to be protected. And, I want great contracts with the networks. I don't want strikes. I want stability, so that I can enjoy the NFL.

Many of us have been fans of the AFC before there was an NFL, and fans of the Browns (the real Browns) and the Giants before that. The NFL is the best there is. I will certainly watch it when you all are gone as fans.

I’ll never understand why the owners like this guy. He is doing long term damage to their product with creating controversies like Deflategate, Bountygate, etc. and watering down the product with oversaturating the market with games that aren’t good.

The big loser is Jerry Jones. He went into this showdown as the most powerful owner, but now he has made an enemy of Goodell who now has another five years. And all Jones got to do was stomp his feet and still lost on Eziekeal Elliot.

Kraft should have sided with Jones against Goodell, but he didn’t. The only positive is Kraft probably strengthened his power in the NFL because of this, but it would have been better to oust Goodell.

The job of the Commissioner of the NFL is one of the most illegitimate occupations seen in the public eye. No legitimate business of any kind would hire Goodell. He'd never be able to get away with doing the things he does now. This really just shows how greedy the 32 really are. Willing to sell the integrity of the game out every chance they get.
