Brown has been here 3 years. He has played the most snaps of any DT.Relative.
As a first round pick coming from this organization, could argue bust. Outside of injured ones, few first round picks have been more “meh”. Maybe Maroney and Graham.
If Brown were a mid-round pick, we would be applauding the team for finding a decent to good starter.
Definitely not a great pick, which we should have known because Kiper and company said they got the steal of the draft, always meaning this will be a huge disappointment.
As a rookie and last year he played the most snaps of all DTs. In year 2 he played just 30 less than Branch and played 596 snaps, a lot for a dt.
He has 8.5 career sacks, which is fine for a Dt who’s primary job is run d, and as good as anyone does in this system in that role. (Equal to wilforks best 3 years)
In the post season brown played the most dt snaps in each game in 15 (as a rookie) and last year, where he played over 80% of the snaps in the afccg/Sb. In 16 he was second slightly behind branch.
Belichick praises him and puts him in the field and he plays well.
To call brown a bust is to say you know nothing about football.
