Could the Patriots trade Malcom Brown to Lions?

Even with both Shelton and Brown on the field, the run defense isn’t that good. I wouldn’t trade him just to trade him, but we don’t have any stars at DT. We have rotational depth. Which is nice. (<— Caddyshack reference)

The run defense is going to be fine.
But yes brown needs to be part of it.

Shouldnt the Pats be working on the best DTs new contract?
They may be.
Tell me who you think their best dt is and how his contract negotiations are going

That doesn’t surprise me.
You know so little.

I know that youre always wrong.

Brown is as good as gone after you gave him your blessing.

Danny Shelton

After this season is over, and the NE run defense improves dramatically, NE will offer Shelton a contract.

Why do you keep comparing Shelton and Brown as if their strengths and responsibilities are exactly the same?

Gronk is listed as a TE. Hernandez was listed as a TE. I guess that means they're pretty much the same player, and both guys could do the job of the other just as well, right?

“Shouldn’t the pats be working on their best DTs contract”
You just made yourself look stupid, again.

Seriously, the opposite of what you say always turns out to be right. You very likely have the least football knowledge of anyone who posts here regularly.

Fact?

Ummm ... define "play harder".
I think it has to do with percentages as in xyz player gives 110% which on reflection makes no sense but say your average BB player plays at 99% effort most of the time. That player could then give 100% more effort in a contract year and be playing at an overall 99.99% effort. See the difference? It's right there for all to see like a test tube baby. I know it's not completely scientific or exactly fact based but trust me, it actually does make more sense when it's conjecture perhaps waist deep BS because all it has to do is pass the eye test of the poster making the claim. And then it can be replicated for other players. Like a test tube baby and then it is scientific. So really it's just the eye test that's necessary to show a player is playing "harder."

I think you have a point but don’t agree with your reasoning.
I think the difference is in preparation.
On the field,
First, anyone in the trenches can’t give less than full effort or they will be physically whipped by their opponent.
Players outside the trenches when they are at the point of atttack, or involved in the play, are the same way.
It’s really when you aren’t involved in the play, do you hustle or loaf that is the effort issue, and frankly a guy who loafs isn’t going to hustle because of a contract year, it’s just who he is.

However, prior to a contract year players will often dedicate themselves to getting in better shape, working out harder, and working on weaknesses because it means a bigger pay day.
Again, some of these guys just won’t give extra effort anyway, but in some you see that jump in a contract year, and I believe it’s all found in the off-season work.

I cannot hold a candle to you.

Joke all you want, but based on some of these recent threads there appear to be a decent segment that believe these type of moves are all within reasonable.
