Brian Hoyer isn’t vaccinated, at least according to most recent report. So the idea that Cam’s backup job was nixed due to vax status is even more doubtful.

Just get over yourself. They brought back a qb who was well liked and carried a flawed team to a game under 500. They had a worst case scenario worked out. They built a team that was better suited for him in the off season and probably would have been better than 500 if he was qb. Then in the draft they got a very good college qb who ended up a much better option then Cam. If they hadn't gotten him they probably would have gotten another young qb or traded for Minshew or someone else. This stuff isn't really rocket science, I am sorry you don't get it.

Hmmm since it has been printed 1000 freaking times but you can't read I will explain it again to you.

When you have two starting qb's you have none.

The first time Mac struggled, and he will, "fans" like you would start calling for him to be benched so Cam could come in and save the season. Cam is a very likeable guy and probably would have some players on the team who want him to start. Cam has never been a backup, and while he says he would accept the roll, that certainly hasn't ever been proven.

They have Hoyer and they have Stidham in a bit, do you think Cam would enjoy being cut as soon as Stidham can play?

I said this when they signed Hoyer and most were saying it was bad news for Mac. I argued it was bad news for Cam. That simply meant if Mac won the job, Cam would be cut, and he was. Bill seems perfectly content moving forward with Hoyer as the backup until Stidham comes back. Just like he seemed perfectly happy with Stidham and Hoyer last year until Cam fell into his lap.

In my perfect world Cam would have stayed as the backup. He would have made the best backup for Mac and if Mac got hurt he could have led the team. I think Cam's ego got in the way. Wish he came to reality about his career and stuck with a good organization and been happy with his place in time for the Patriots. He's much better than Hoyer or Stidam ever would be.

In a perfect world, one the only involved this year, Newton would never have been brought back, and the team would have looked to bring in a different "bridge" QB.

Originally I thought it was a pride thing. But now word is he was never given the option. Cam would be a better backup than hoyer and stidham
