Brady's dad claims Bill may be "On the hot seat"

and he believed he was at the end of the line with the team and Brady as a QB.........I think that reality came when Gordon and Brown crashed and burned.....probably threw up his hands and said 'well, that's that'
I think that's about right - Harry and Meyers were supposed to be sitting behind Gordon and Edelman to learn the system, not to be options 1 and 2 without Gronkowski. Meyers (and Gunner Oslewski) emerging -now- is about a year, maybe two, too late for Brady.

Frankly, given the way the Patriots have drafted WRs, I think their best bet with that is to find ex-quarterbacks or jack-of-all-trades that can physically handle being converted to WRs because they seem to have more aptitude at finding the holes in the defenses that the Erdhart-Perkins scheme demands.

People just love the ****ing drama. Who honestly cares about their relationship? Tom didn’t leave because of a relationship, he left because he didn’t think this team was good enough to win a championship. We had a solid but aging defense and a mediocre collection of skill players.

cutting Brown ( Which was reported to be Krafts decision )
Drafting Harry over Metcalf were some obvious ones.
But simply our drafting of offensive talent has been poor. Damien Harris is prob the best offensive player we have selected in the last 5 years plus and we DNP’d him last year.

Soft? Pot meet kettle.

You publicly stated you will root for another team over the Patriots just because you are mad at management. I call ********.

Before your pathetic post, I had no problem with you bashing BB. Biffins and others do it daily. At least they stay invested in the team.

You claim to be a Pats Fan but you aren't.

You are a fraud.

When the NEP are back in the playoffs and contending for Super Bowls again, you have zero right to lay claim and call yourself a fan. None.

Respond to any of my posts and i'll rip you a new one publicly- again.
Oh brother another Belichick goon. Who's going to stop me from "laying claiming" as a Patriots fan? You?

Right, I rooted for Tampa Bay this season. Like a lot of other Patriots fans who chose an alternative to that hot garbage in Foxboro. The Patriots were cooked at 2-5. When you're left with can Jake Bailey set a career best in yards per punt I'm tuning out.

Maybe you think it's good business dumping your franchise quarterback. I don't.

And 3-13 before Belichick feels any heat? That's a softer take than banning me for rooting for Brady.

Yep.

He also saw the end coming.

I think if you tied BB up with a golden rope hed say they had a 10% chance of winning the SB in 2019 and if Tom came back in 2020 a 1% chance.
So a player who's won more Super Bowls than any franchise had a 1% chance?

Nostradamus Bill saw the end coming after the 2013 season. Which was only about 10 years too early. So are we really hanging onto his vision? I'm not. What setting does Bill's prognostications reach on your heated seats?

I don't know if he's on the hot seat, but Sunday didn't help. It might be a at least lukewarm after that.

I'll leave it @Ian to decide if you should continue to post here.

You clearly aren't a fan of the team.

I only engage in reasonable discussion/debate with actual fans of the team.

Looks like you seriously need to brush up on your reading comprehension. I've never advocated to fire Bill and that's literally not even a piece of my post. Quote the person who posted that, not me.

It's great to know though how thin-skinned you Belichick disciples are today though. Brings me joy watching you all eat crow.
Looks like you are too stupid to understand sarcasm.

I don't think Sunday changed anything for Bill's status as HC with the Patriots.

Bill got his reboot without Brady and now we need to see progress on this rebuild starting this season.

I just mean in terms of legacy

Make up your mind. Either you're "ripping me a new one" every time I respond to you or you're ignoring me. So far you're not doing either.

I'm as much of a fan of the team as you are. I'm not a fan of Belichick's, which doesn't exclude from supporting the team. I'm also no fan of N'Keal Harry, wasn't a fan of Jordan Richards, **** MacPherson was a bad idea... none of those things makes me "no fan of the team."

Like the rest of the sports world I was very curious about how Brady and Belichick would fair without the other. I was skeptical about the Patriots but after they started out with two wins and a close loss at Seattle it seemed possible they could have a competitive season. However, they dropped their next four games with especially putrid quarterback play and that was it. The Patriots season was over by week 8. They were a hot mess in December which included one of the more embarrassing losses in recent memory (the Monday night massacre vs the Bills at Gillette). You going to tell me that you really stuck with them through all that?

The Brady experience in Tampa Bay was fascinating because in some ways their season mirrored some of what we had come to expect from the Patriots over the course of their dynasty. Gaining momentum as the season progressed, playing their best football in December, not losing to an opponent in the second or third meeting. Also you could see Brady's fingerprints allover their offense late in the regular season and into the postseason. Working in the play-action, establishing a good balance of short, intermediate and deep throws, and throwing to the open receiver... you could see the perfect culmination of this in the Super Bowl.

How could you not be in awe of what Brady (at age 43) just accomplished in Tampa Bay. It's remarkable and we'll never see anything like it again. It's not just his exceptional quarterback play either. Brady assembled some of the key pieces to their roster... Gronk, Brown and Fournette (who accounted for the four touchdowns in the Super Bowl). By all accounts Brady supported the coaching staff with game-planning, play-calling and provided invaluable leadership for the entire team. By the time the Super Bowl came Brady had them all believing in him, and more importantly in themselves, and focused on the collective goal of becoming Super Bowl champions.

Tampa Bay finished out the season with point totals: 31, 47, 44, 31, 30, 31 and 31. They won their last 8 games. They won 3 road playoff games. They knocked off three former league MVP's in a row. They completely dominated the Super Bowl against a team that virtually everyone had on the verge of becoming the next dynasty.

If it doesn't make you wonder if the Patriot Way wasn't really just about most importantly having the GOAT quarterback then you're just burying your head in the sand.

I wouldn't be surprised if Brady was the one that begged BB to go get Gordon and Brown and when they blew up, BB probably said 'that's last time I take personnel advice from a QB'

Let's file this in the dumbazz forum.

Can’t speak about the Gordon situation, but the Brown situation is covered by Jeff Benedict in The Dynasty, where he had first hand interviews with Kraft and Brady, and got very lengthy email responses to questions he asked Belichick.

Getting Brown was BB’s idea because he knew the team was still down on talent after losing Gronk, and opportunities to get guys like Brown don’t appear every day. But he needed to clear it by Kraft, who anticipated BB would be interested. After making BB promise that he did his diligence on him, he said he’d agree if Brady was for it and was willing to keep him under control. So Kraft called Brady, and Brady’s response was comparable to someone asking a 14 year old boy if he was interested in a free Pornhub subscription.

It was Kraft who cut Brown. BB didn’t want to cut him because he didn’t do anything wrong during his Patriots time, this was all pre-NE issues. But he wasn’t willing to fight Kraft over it because he understood Kraft’s view and mindset. Brady was not happy at all, but the book doesn’t mention any arguments or the like.

Just picked it up on Amazon.

You crybaby. Your 20-point Belichick Plan for the future is Hall of Fame dumbazzness.

When we win the Super Bowl with that plan; my sincere hope is you leave and never, ever return.

Wait, you're doubling down that plan? And you really believe Belichick is going to use it?

It was Kraft who cut Brown.
This what many of us suspected all along. He was already dealing with his own legal issues and the media overreacting to Brown's texting caused Kraft to make that move.

Seeing how you spent the time to author a fairly level-headed, well-written post and are attempting to rehabilitate your PatsFans image I will respond and be cordial in kind.

To be clear I am loyal to the TEAM. Not the Krafts. Not BB. Not Tom. I am loyal to the uniform. I will watch, follow and support this team just like I did in 1981, 1991, 2001, 2011, 2020 and until the day I die. I don't switch allegiances just because I think the FO screwed up, or Kraft got a rub at a flip-n-grip dive or the GOAT goes to another team. I'm not wired that way. Following a sports team is like having a brother. You'll get in fights. He'll piss you off but he'll also be the best man at your wedding and will hold your 1st child when they are barely an hour old.

I'm not going to waste any additional typing motions explaining the ins and outs of my BB/Tom position or debate it again. The entire board knows my interpretation of the events and it isn't changing. I wish Tom was still here and I'm glad he was successful and happy in TB. We'll never see someone like him again in our lives. I also understand what BB's position was. It was a tough situation and he did what he felt was in the best interests of the franchise pertaining to it's long-term success. He traded any marginal, short-term success for an opportunity to accelerate the rebuilding process which provides a better chance at sustained excellence. He felt Tom did not want to be part of that and a slow slide would only add to his already unhappy disposition here. People blame BB for Tom's unhappiness but there was a lot more to it than Tom being unable to get rub-downs from Guerreo in the locker room or money.

I'm not sure there is anything to respond to here. It is what it is.

Looks like you are too stupid to understand sarcasm.
You can just take the L and move on boomer. I could care less about your desperate insults over semantics that you failed to convey.

If I remember correctly, BB tried to get Brown from day 1. He only went to Oakland because the Stealers refused to trade for a 1st rounder.
