Tom Brady knows he could be sent packing, at some point

If the 49ers had their way, they would have had Brady instead of Garoppolo, given Jay Glazer’s report that G.M. John Lynch asked about trading for Tom before ultimately trading for Jimmy.

“Well, that would have been a much shorter commute for my parents to each game,” Brady said of a possible trade to the 49ers. “They have made such an effort over the years.”

I know it's the 49ers, which is his favorite team from childhood... but, yikes... sounds like he would take it in stride... just thinking about it is kinda...

...yuck...

Brady and his father have both acknowledged in the past more than once the real possibility of ending his career elsewhere.

I'm still pretty surprised by the move, would have thought for sure mcdaniels was going to go to a team, and brady or jimmy was going to go with him, in exchange for a first rounder.

the giants could be doing a complete makeover next year,
Mcdaniels and Brady as giant playing against bill and jimmy int he superbowl.

would have done gangbuster ratings even though 99.9% of patriots fans including myself would have vomited to see brady in giants blue and white.

Those are the kind of things dreamed up in nightmares and you are doing this while conscious?

I'd go with, I took an Ambien and must have been sleep typing

Just having some fun. i'm in the let's keep Brady camp until he quits or goes 6-10.

I thought something Similar Gmen could still target McDaniels
I think if the Giants are smart and want instant discipline in that locker room it's Mike Vrabel or Jim Schwartz.

The Colts new GM may target the OC in KC or Quarterback coach in Philly.
Just connecting the dots.
I still feel like Jim Bob Cooter deserves some interviews getting Stafford to not be a turnover machine is quite the feat.

Please, how would anyone sell either of those two NFL “felons” to the beyond reproach owner, John “purebred” Mara, who goes by John “myshitdontstink” Mara to the other club members?

Did not Nostradamus say “when the goat is traded to the left coast, the apocalypse will be upon us”? Or something like that.

He did and much more.

The year 2000, pick 199, sixth round,
From the sky will come a great King of Terror:
Resuscitate the great Head Coach of "New England"
Before, after, many Februaries to reign merrily.
A blue pony, an orange donkey and a purple crow will fall into the abyss of oxygenless karma.

I need a drink.

Are you sure that was Nostradamus? Sounds more like John Madden.

I am of the firm opinion that Brady has told BB and Kraft that he will not play for another team. He hopes to retire on his own terms, but I bet you anything he has told them that if they plan to trade him, he will retire on the spot. He doesn't need the $$ and he doesn't need to be uprooting his family, his outside business interests or even his spouse's business interests in order to go play for some other team on someone else's terms and learn some other team's system at his age to squeeze out a few more years. Perhaps they have even agreed that they will not trade him, only cut him or let him retire when he wants, all in exchange for the home town discounts he has happily taken over the years. Just my $.02, and before anyone asks, I have no evidence (just like the rest of you). It's just the opinion I get reading the tea leaves.

PS - it must be maddening for Brady (and perhaps BB) that there is all this talk about Brady being traded when the team is 6-2, Brady is playing great and the team is pretty much perfectly poised for another SB run. Too bad we can't just enjoy this season in the moment.

It's a decent take although I have a hard time believing Brady would retire but your point about a different offensive scheme is a good point.

Brady would probably do it if he could bring D. Allen with him.

Here's something I've thought about what about BB leaving for the Giants?
He always talks about his respect for the family and his time there.
Wouldn't it be intriguing for BB to win a Superbowl there.
Again very far left field but not impossible
I hear rumors of Giants cleaning house completely and Caserio and McDaniels could be the target.
Makes sense great organization cares about football pieces for a strong foundation family may not have to leave could commute to work.
However could a secenario pop up where BB says I've had a amazing run in New England I want to see what I can do with the Giants?
Thoughts

At the very least no way he goes and play for the 0-8 49ers.

No I don't see that at all. As long as BB is a part of football he will be a Patriot. He is the Patriots and vice versa. Unlike some I think he will ensure the Patriots will be good to go before his and after Brady's departure.
