Peter King, SI (from Patspulpit):
“The Saints (picking 11, 32, 42, 76, 103 in the first three rounds) are still interested in Butler, but someone familiar with their thinking believes they are leaning toward keeping their first three picks,” King writes in his weekly column. “The Saints believe that their board between 25 and 75 has a slew of players capable of contributing immediately, with grades close to each other, and the thought of dealing one or more picks for Butler, then paying him a huge contract, is less attractive than it once seemed.”

That doesn't rule out #76 + something very significant next year. Kind of a win - win, we either get something good or are totally loaded for 2017.

Only negative is I love following the draft and seeing who we get...not the year to care haha.

You should actually enjoy it more:

1. best draft is when you have no needs

2. BB&co do their magic in the later rounds and UDFA

3. 2017 incredibly deep class - with many red flags - will offer spectacular Day 4 (aka UDFA hunt). Just f.e.: there will be 3-5 UDFA safety prospects with better film and measurables than Richards (and I don't even dislike Jordan). Note that Pats have only 64 players on the roster so UDFA class could be much bigger than the norm.
Our Draft Board is discovering jewels 500+ deep.

Pats are in a good place with their options....Signing Butler to a long long term deal would be nice....they have $$$$ and options to be a good team for a few more years.....Life AB is still an unknown...
