BOSTON CELTICS vs. Washington Wizards (Eastern semi-finals)

Coming into the season I thought IT was going to put Danny in a tough position. Wasn't really sure he was a max guy. I know tonight wasn't The Finals, or a game seven. But that was incredible. Tough as nails in the clutch. If there was ever a doubt in my mind about him, he erased it tonight. This guy is a legit superstar. Giving him a max contract should be a no brainer at this point. Even for Danny.

If we can add some rebounding, rim protection and that Brooklyn pick turns into an All Star/franchise player this team is going to be a legit contender in the next year or two.

what an amazing game that was. Isaiah Thomas with 53 with everything he's dealing with. the Celtics need to lock him up. Rozier is playing unbelievable too.

I have been in love with Rozier's talent since last year. My issue with him, and I thought/hoped he would improve this in the offseason, is that he is far too passive. He is almost always looking to give the ball up. If we could get this guy to be aggressive we might have "Most Improved Player" next year and a future All Star. This kid gets separation from defenders so easily.

As a Wizards fan, I tend to look at the series through the following lens:

if the coaching staffs were flipped, the series is 2-0 in Washington's favor right now. The rosters are fairly evenly matched, with Boston being deeper but Washington arguably having a bit more raw talent (IT is an unbelievably talented player, however).

The difference in my opinion is coaching, specifically mental preparation and tactical adjustments. Stevens appears to be a special coach, be grateful for him. I'm feeling a tad pessimistic about Brooks but it is his first season after all. He needs and deserves more time, I suppose.

I kinda was in the camp that IT is just too small and they should consider selling high on him...

But ****it.. the dude lost his sister a week ago. Lost a front tooth Sunday. Banged his mouth on the floor again today and messed up his new teeth. Today was his sisters birthday. And HE DROPS 53 and went straight Tom Brady down the stretch

GIVE THE MAN MAX MONEY ASAP. He has "IT" no pun intended

It's not the coaching, IMO. Boston can stop Wall when it's needed late. Washington couldn't stop Thomas with a fleet of ships, right now. If that doesn't change in Washington, the Wizards (BULLETS!) will be in the deep stuff.

I tend to disagree.

If Wall was coached by Stevens, and Thomas by Brooks, I tend to feel Wall would be more difficult to guard, while the Wizards would be better prepared to defend Thomas.

Just my two cents.

With the way Isaiah's playing right now, who on Washington could defend him without using a shotgun?

the parallels to the Patriots:

- gutsy come from behind win from disregarded players with huge chip on shoulder
- strong team resiliency, strong locker room
- genius coaching
- MVP caliber player that got passed over by every team in the draft, picked late and written off
- questions in the media whether it is luck or talent, because (on paper) the team is just not that good
- opposing coaches strongly hinting at cheating: Hoiberg that IT4 is carrying the ball (air pressure?), Brooks accusing Celts of getting over physical Bradley Beal (Pats bumping the Greatest Show on a Turf at the LOS...leading to a rule change)
- fans, media, just about everyone presuming they the team will lose soon... imminently... well, they're just getting lucky... can't keep this up... worst #1 seed of all time...

For the Pats, it took 15 years to earn the respect, and a lot of uphill. Celts are only in Year Two of that roadmap. More remarkable, long odds wins. More media claims that they're just getting lucky. More accusations of cheating. All of this still to come.

Make it happen IT4. Prove them wrong.

Sure, either that or he's simply talking to his son, while Patricia sits across the aisle, but hey--I never miss an opportunity to appreciate his genius.

If you guys can get another pure scorer on this squad, it's absolutely championship caliber. Thomas was a man amongst boys last night. Very gutty performance.
