NFL MUST investigate dubious officiating at Colt home games

I didn't see Sundays game I'm referring to last November pats/colts game.

I was at that game and hardly anybody used their seats when the Pats had the ball, they were loud..im not going to get into the piped in crowd noise crap because I know you all just say that to try and get under our skin and hey thats cool it don't bother me and I know most of you know that they don't use piped in noise. Good luck Sunday I am rooting for history and 19-0...

Cromdome,no one in the League, not even the commish himself said the pats cheated. What would 8 minutes, and 6 plays get you? I'll tell you ...nada,zilch,zippo,nothing.

People made way too much out of spygate, your right no way did the Pats gain any advantage at all with that 8 minutes of tape, besides the Pats wouldn't have needed it anyway. I think people just have fun with it just because it happened, like the piped in crowd noise theory, people will always say we do that no matter what, I don't care it don't bother me what people want to think about it, people will always bring up spygate to just get under your skin.

My dad swears that when Don Shula was on the competition committee, Miami was never flagged. He thinks the same is true with Polian.
SHula was flagged, but the Dolphins were the least flagged team in teh NFL for the period he ran the committee. It was a hundred times worse than Polian. Refs had to explain all calls against the Phins to Shula under the guise of correct officiating. THey quickly learned that only calls against the Dolphins would get them in trouble, and that a call taht could go either way had better go FOR the Dolphins. It wasn't like today when the NFL tracks ALL calls the refs make and grade them independently. After Shula left, the Dolphins went back to getting an average number of penalties. Being on that committee was as big a help to their undefeated season as Paul Warfield was.

You must have heard teh Cszonka quote: "We didn't need to cheat like the Patriots. If we didn't like a rule, we told Shula and he got the rule changed." He wasn't joking. Re

yeah we have all read that along time ago but its still an unnamed source so it has no credability..

and of course this was reported by a station out of Boston no less.
An unnamed source??? Tell that to Nixon who went down because of Watergate...well I would DOUBT that any Indiana station would investigate...you are an unnamed troll...LOSER!! Wbven with refs in Polien's pocket you still LOSE!!

Thanks for the name calling, I appreciate it, I am just here having a civil conversation and not calling anybody any names so if that makes you feel better then feel free, im not going to stoop to that level of behavior..

You don't need any "IT smarts". You can start an online petition free and easy, But, like all online petition's it will fall on deaf ears. The NFL will never admit there is anything wrong because that would bring so many things into question (i.e Super Bowl XL, Super Bowl XLI).
Maybe Congress should investigate the "fraud"..I truly believe ONLY a threat of some Confressional investogation WOULD do anything to force the NFL to look at this mess...do NOT forget the NBA ref scandal...who would have thought?? There's a whole LOT going on underGoodell's nose..he's too scared to look...Get Congress ro threaten to look and maybe they will start to vlean up the mess...mention anti-trust laws and how the NFL straddles them AND Presto!! there will be action!! Just the threat and Goodell will make BIG changes..take a look at the gambling implication of it all..makes the NBA scandal look like tiddly winks.

Don't forget that horribly called at Indy that f'ed the Jags this year too!!! Someone really needs to do something about the refs...its like they aren't even trying to cover it as much anymoare that they are favoring the Colts

Nobody has mentioned Jax/Indy earlier this year, which was terribly officiated. So that makes Jax/Sd/NE this year that went there and got screwed on calls, as well as Pitt/NE/SD in the playoffs the last 3 years. I'm not blaming our playoff loss on that, as Mike Vrabel said, Pats had to make one more play in the 4th quarter to win that game and they couldn't do it, however, the officiating for Indy home games has been terrible against good opponents of late.

My guess is that the officials are a little intimidated, atleast subconciously, by Polian because of the power he has within the NFL. I don't think any fixing or anything like that is going on and is a league-wide effort....

Shula has always been a real piece of work huh?

dude...gotta hand it you! Your hanging in there with class despite your disappointment and come over to your arch rival's board only to catch crap. No one's been giving you much sympathy and you still hang in there.

You're a better man than I!

Thats cool I didn't expect or want any sympathy anyway, our board is just full of negative posts about cutting Marvin, letting Dungy go and overall just stupid posts that its hard to read right now. I mean if the Pats lose this weekend(I know they won't) I don't think you would all be starting threads to fire your coach and to let Brady go. its beyond rediculous right now on the Colts boards..yeah we lost but they want to fire the entire team...

You gotta be used to that by now. They're like that EVERY time they lose ANY game, not just in the playoffs. There's a crew of like 5 of them on IndySTAR that only show up, or get vocal after losses.

I dunno how you stand it. I can understand being disappointed, but fire everyone? Wow.

I hear this alot and I am just asking a serious question here. Why would the officials care if Polian is on the rules committee? He doesn't have any power in the nfl other then being on the rules committee that I am aware of. So really the officials shouldn't be intimidated by him at all. Now Im not going to say I don't think were getting some calls at home because I see it to, but I am not convinced its because of Polian though.

Yeah I don't know if Im going to be back on that board very much, fans need to stick by their team through thick and thin.

See Shula, Don, Miami Dolphins, Head Coach, 1970-1993

That's your answer. Plus, Polian AND Dungy are on the Competition Committee, yes?

Is Dungy on the Competition Committee to? I wasn't aware of that, that would seem like some kind of conflict of interest to me. Do officials really get intimidated by GM's on the Competition Committee? I am not saying your all wrong or anything. I just don't understand what there is to be intimidated by just because polian is on the CC. Do you know who else is on the CC?

I think Holmgren is on there too, and I can't think of who else; I could look it up, but why click stuff?

Anyway, there's definitely an intimidation factor involved there; and in all committees in the NFL, usually the loudest voice gets their way. I mean, just look at the passing rules the last 5 years or so, and how much it favors the offense now. It's not by accident. This isn't a "rule change" rant; but the fact of the matter is, the changes and re-emphasis of many defensive pass rules absolutely benefit the Colts style of play. Recently successful teams have used this to their advantage.

I also think the competition committee has some influence on referee placements/positions. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong on that, and if someone would like to disagree/expand/add to this, feel free.

It sounded more like when you put a microphone next to some electronics. A weird echo sound. Do you think the Colts are pumping in crowd noise?

Yes!! They do it to mess with the other teams ability to run their offense.
Hard to audible at the line and change up the play when nobody can hear the signals.
The Colts are cheats and have been for years. Beauty is their cheating ways can't overcome their choking ways.
They're the Atlanta Braves of the NFL.
