OT: Colts and Titans Had "Agreement"

I don't know if this has been mentioned in this thread (I've lazily read only the first and current page of it), but during the Titans/dolts GDT, it was noted that the post-game PDA between dungheap and the fisher king was especially cozy, even for those two. A little too cozy, if you know what I mean. Wink, wink; nudge, nudge.

The free pass that the entire dolts organization receives is one of the most obscenely blatant unreported crimes in the history of NA sports. I hate the dolts even more than the NY MFYs or the LaLa-Land Fakers.

OK, now that is seriously grasping at straws. Don't let your hatred blind you into making silly overstatements.

I guess the NFL forgot to distribute the memo from the Competition Committee that games between Indy and Tennessee are governed by special rules that allow for predetermined outcomes.

allright, something needs clearing up...

this wasnt a huge or amazing rule broken, but if one coach calls the other beginning of game, and tells them that well let u win so no guys get hurt, something is wrong...

especially when its done with playoff implications....now dont get me wrong, in such a game, personally i dont see it as incredible evil, but i didnt see spygate as incredible evil either.....and we ALL know how that turned out

but as said b4, it is the colts...and they have representation on the CC...

Heard Boomer Esiason on WFAN this morning. Said he's never seen this before and is very troubled by it especially since the Titans were only up by 6 at the time and a fumble, etc returned for a TD wins the game for the Colts and puts the Browns in the playoffs.
This goes directly to the LACK of integrity in the game and once again the Saint is involved. :D
The hypocrisy of Tony Dungy is hilarious. Looks like Daddy of the Year took a course in coaching collusion. How Holy of him! ;)

We will see how long it takes Goodell to sweep it under the rug. The rug in his office is getting pretty lumpy.

This is the same franchise that when in Baltimore in 1977 threw the last game of the year vs the pitiful Lions which kept the Patriots out of the playoffs; a punt got "blocked" in the closing minutes of the game which led to the winning score.

Old habits die hard...............

Your facts aren't correct. The Colts lost game 13 to the Lions on a blocked punt. They then came from 24-3 to beat the Patriots. Sorry. The Patriots lost 2 games in November to the Bills and Dolphins. They were 5-4, then won 4 in a row and had NO shot at the playoffs even with a win in Baltimore the final week of the season.

Has anyone from the national media started running with this? Seriously, the more I think about it the more it stinks. Not callling a timeout--essentially giving up in a 6 point game that has huge playoff implications--really does point to something fishy, and the 41 second clock run-off after a -1 yard run on the previous drive doesn't help matters.

I agree with Boomer, I haven't seen something like this--whether it be the last game of the year or not--since I've been watching the NFL. It really was rolling over and playing dead, and even without collusion the Colts should not come out of this unscathed. Starters or backups doesn't matter in the least, the players on the field--and the coaches calling the shots--should be executing plays to win the game, plain and simple. I'd like to see some heads roll, or at the least some big-time media attention in this matter.

Unfortunately, I think after the camera incident Goodell would rather have his house burnt down than see the Colts dragged through the mud here. Granted, he allowed spygate to happen and never stopped the bleeding on what should have been a paper cut. But in this case you're talking about potential collusion, and even if it wasn't collusion the thought of a team rolling over in a meaningful game might be enough to create quite the uproar.

After what the Patriots had to go through this season, I'm all for a full-fledged investigation and some more of the media running away with a story and creating their own.

There's been no mention and I doubt there will be. Face it, even if there is something, Saint Dungy will come on and say he wouldn't do anything like that. He will be taken at his word and that will be that.

For whatever reason, people eat up the crap he spews from his mouth. Evidenced by the fact that his stupid book sold so much.

As Goodell says "Different Strokes for Different Folks".

Very true. Unfortunately, it seems the NFL has been quick to defend others while going out of their way to drag the Patriots through the mud.

All you have to point to is the Colts being accused of pumping sound in and the Jets being caught doing what the Patriots did. In the Colts case the NFL quickly brushed it under the rug, no investigation necessary. CBS--I think it was them--came out quickly after the incident, saying it was a glitch in their system. However, look at it from their standpoint: they just had the highest rated game in NFL history and get their biggest ratings from the NFL, do you really think they'd like to be wrapped up in an NFL conspiracy? So they go along with the NFL and allow the issue to quickly dissolve despite some pretty damning evidence to the contrary (sound experts saying it couldn't have been a television feed, a stadium employee saying they did it all the time, and others coming out and saying their teams pumped in artificial noise).

In the case of the Jets, they had a similar violation to the Patriots (employee not in a designated filming area taping the opposing team). Despite the Patriots coming out and saying 1) they kicked the Jets employee out of the stadium and 2) saying they never gave him permission to film, nothing was made of the incident. I don't care where he was filming, it wasn't a designated area and is as clear a violation of the league rules as the Patriots case.

I hate all this crap, it detracts from the games being played and calls into question the integrity of the game. But after what happened to the Patriots I'd love for other teams--especially the 'holier than thou' Colts--to feel the wrath of the media creating a story from next to nothing.

GoDdell won't listen so call Moose and Rocko. The score did not effect the spread but somebody in Cleveland must have picked the Browns to make the playoffs.

The exact same sound glitch occurred in the last Pats-Miami game. I firmly believe the Colts pump crowd noise into their stadium, but what we heard on TV during Pats/Colts was clearly a network problem.

Those who proclaim how good they are-never are. I certainly never heard Mother Theresa speaking of how high and might she was and casting aspersions on others. Everyone else has put blinders on to their own teams and piled on us.

Take the Denver article yesterday picking on Brady and the baby. They employ Travis Henry. Colts fans pick on Randy Moss but have a history of a bunch of players in trouble with the law. No Pats under BB have ever been in trouble with the law. Chargers boast of class but demean everyone in their path, again the Pats have never done that. Dungy speaks of loving each other and doing things the right way, but diminishes homosexuality and wrote a book and profited from an unimaginable tragedy.

Why does everyone do this? Because our coach hates the media and our QB is very good looking and attracts beautiful women. Pretty good reasons if you ask me.

I kind of look at it the way I love this team is akin to the way I love my kids. I have 2 teenage boys who are sarcastic, and per their age, a little rebellious. They are, for the most part, good kids but occasionally may irritate people. When push comes to shove they are great people and I'm proud of the men they are becoming. Some outsiders may not see that if they catch them at a bad moment and have no other basis in which to have an opinion. Do I love them any less because somebody else doesn't think they are perfect? Heck no. And I certainly don't want them to be something they aren't. I know who they really are, and so do they, what everybody else thinks just doesn't matter.

See sieglo's post. And the "sound expert" was a Patriot's fan on a message board that we have no real idea if he is or isn't. BTW, that guy wasn't a stadium employee, he was a yellow shirt $8.00 an hour rented "security guard" that could have been just yanking that guy's chain for all anyone knows.

oh geez...It's unbelievable that you guys are comparing this to spygate. Man, haven't you guys won three superbowls and have an undefeated season. Why so much whining about the Colts??
Did anyone here actually watch the game??

It only had one of the most devastating tackles I've ever seen.
Reggie Wayne was also rung up really good. Tennessee was hitting harder than ever. I was screaming for Dungy to take the starters out earlier than he did. If there was collusion why, on earth, would the players be playing that hard. It's because there wasn't any collusion!

The Colts have been hurt all year. They'd played well enough to earn a bye and rest their players. The goal for the Colts is winning the Superbowl, not a regular season game that means NOTHING to them. They didn't call the time out in the end because if they did they would have been down 9 points with 20 seconds to go. Giving them little chance of winning a game that means NOTHING to them.

They shouldn't have to play their starters, and risk their playoff future, for the 'sanctity of the game' just because Cleveland wasn't good enough to win the games they should have.

Also...the noisegate thing...again. Total bullsh%%t. Have any of you been to the RCA Dome? It is a horrible place to go for a concert because of the echoing. It's loud no matter what kind of event is going on there. I was at Wrestlemania when I was a kid and thought my head was going to burst.
It's loud place. Get over it.

And it's unbelievable that you guys equate camera placement to cheating. See how easy that is?

Really? You've NEVER seen anything like this?
Really? You want MORE attention (It only seems to be getting attention here and on the Colts MB)?

How about:
http://www.patsfans.com/bob/display_story.php?story_id=2906

How about the part where the starters rested after the first quater?
How about the part where they lost a game they wanted to lose, and according to the writer...they lost on purpose.

Look, I'm not saying either is wrong. I say you rest your starters when you have nothing to play for. I say be a good sport and let the clock run out if you know you can't win, and the game is essentially over.

I also say, don't throw stones from your glass house...and when Brady's on the sideline, and Cassel's sailing passes that will force an OT in a game you want to lose...and your own site writer is telling the story of how it was intentional, and Bill planned it...your house looks pretty fragile.

I hope the Colts will play the same way in the playoffs.

I believe it was the NFL that equated it to cheating.

Please get the document the NFL released about this and point to the word cheating for me.... I may have missed that part.
