Wasn't just the Pats, Steelers and Jags did long before us. And when we see people standing that accompanies the noise, we'll stop questioning.

What - are you in the 3rd grade or something? What kind of "logic" is this you're spouting? I didn't "disregard" anything - I answered your absurd post and called you on it. I'm glad to see you're at least responsible enough to concede the point I called you on you were wrong about.

The NFL hasn't said anything about the Colts "cheating", especially in this case, because it hasn't been "investigated" yet. That's the only reason.

If, after a full, fair and impartial review of the situation the NFL, and the offices of Commissioner Clouseau, determine everything was on the up-and-up, trust me - the whole thing will disappear, and I for one won't utter another word about it (this situation).

In the meantime, Fanatikk, I suggest you follow your own advice, and just cut the crap with this "spygate cheating" shiite. It wasn't "cheating", it was an administrative rule violation. It was turned into "cheating" by a sensationalist headline-grabbing press.

Of course, if calling it "cheating" helps get your rocks off...whatever...you'll still be a 3rd grader.

    Have a nice weekend....

second. I didn't bring up the spygate crap...I responded to Patfan that brought it up.

Third grader, huh. I guess, I've been called worse.

I'm still confused. The Colts and Titans agreed that the Titans would win? Someone forgot to tell that guy Scaife who's out with a lacerated liver. And Chris Henry thinks he's John Henry. How they were able to orchestrate that last drive was a thing of beauty. why couldn't it be that after the third down play they looked over at the Colt bench and the Colts signaled the clock to run.

The scary thing is, not one person on this thread actually said the Browns lost to the Cardinals, the Bengals and Raiders. Maybe that's the whole point.

I'm new to this board, but why we worry about the Colts so much is strange. They should worry about us.

Off the top of my head October when the cowboys blocked a Viking FG attempt and returned it for a TD.
Last year the Chargers attempted a Fg with 2 minutes left vs the Eagles, had it blocked and returned for the game winning TD..so it happens and more often than you'd think......

    Post 195.

The NFL didn't use the word "cheating", but you did.

2nd, here's the classic, "She started it!" argument.

    3rd grader, indeed!

You've been called worse? I can only imagine.

Just for the record, now, are we all square on the "spygate" thing and the subject of "cheating", as it relates to it?

I watched the game (colts-titans) and the announcers were questioning what was going on at the end. They were confused as to why Dungy wasn't calling a timeout. They pointed out that even though you are resting your starters, you should allow for any possibility to win. They thought it was strange.
Now, you add Collins saying 'there was an agreement', and what you have is different than when Belichick lost on purpose to the Dolphins so that the pats could play the jags. What you have is collusion between two teams coaches as to how the end of a game will play out. That crosses a line of integrity. Letting your team lose is one thing. Having an agreement with the opposing coach is another.

The reason the media won't dwell on this is because they don't have the anti-belichick agenda against dungy, plain and simple.

by the way, on nfl.com, at the end of the pats-giants game replay, it shows Kraft and his wife both warmly hugging Goodell. I think you all extremely underestimate how important that is. That tells you that whatever is going on behind the scenes - spygate, favortism, biased refs, noisegate, polian, rules, on and on and on - kraft is completely on good terms with Goodell, and vise-versa, which means all is not as it appears to fans. Remember, this is first and foremost, a business, and kraft is a shrewd business man. He is leading the charge to enter the global market. His team is becoming one of the most recognizable and marketable teams in the nfl. while us fans stomachs churn with every play, every perceived injustice, every slight, from any and all sources, the nfl and the patriots are actually completely happy and doing very well, thank you, and are apparantly good friends. So I'd let some back recess of your subconscious relax and know the pats are gonna be just fine. Kraft has everything under control. that's why he's kraft. :)

I didn't say they cheated...but I was accused of it and said "no, the NFL equated it to cheating". You're so defensive about it... "no, no it was a rules violation infraction"...damn sorry! whatever. I didn't say they cheated!

My only point was the fact that people are crying about the Colts on here because they didn't play their starters and they didn't use their time outs in a MEANINGLESS game. Teams have been doing this forever, but the Colts do it and it must be collusion!

What do you think Kraft is going to do on camera to Goodell, give him the finger. Kraft knows he has been screwed royally by Goodell and is waiting for the right time and place to take care of business.

Innuendo, Fanatikk, that's what you brought to the table with these posts. The sins of omission are every bit as bad as the sins of commission. You left it hanging out there for all to see, grasp, and consume, all in the hopes of, if necessary, invoking plausible deniability.

I'm not impressed, and neither is any one else here.

Defensive? I don't think so. I said it was an administrative rules violation because it was, and because the league office said it was. I'm just calling a spade a spade here.

    How about you?

Just to be real clear on this, the game wasn't meaningless to Tennessee. As another poster put it on another thread (in so many words), "you have to look at it from the Colts' POV. Who would you rather face in the playoffs - a scrappy Cleveland team that has shown it can put points on the board, or a Tennessee team that can barely win, even when you're trying to let them?"

Your boys have a long and illustrious history of botching things come the close of the regular season, and it looks like they're arriving right on schedule this year. Too bad for you Bill Polian won't be able to turn up the heat, adjust the sound, bring the mascot behind the goal posts on field goals, etc., etc.

Of course, that assumes they make it past their first playoff game....

No, he's not going to do that! But for all of Commissioner Clouseau's hugability, the simple fact of the matter remains, Goodell needs Kraft a lot more than Kraft needs Goodell. One almost gets the impression that, at the moment, Goodell is merely being tolerated, much as the proverbial Black Sheep family member is at family gatherings. A facade of congeniality is put forth to soothe the tensions of others, but below that, we all have a pretty good idea just what thought processes are at work.

    Just another view...

Definitely pretty lame that the timeout wasn't used. Who knows if the FG or punt try was blocked? Don't you think some ST wants to get his first NFL TD, even in garbage time.

I also noticed the announcers asking why the last timeout wasn't being used.

NFL should give a stern warning or league wide "memo" about this, but I don't think there was anything sinister going on.

I think you got it right about the relationship between Goodell and Kraft. Goodell is like Carlo Rizzi in the "Godfather".When the bargaining agreement is reopened in a few years all family debts will be settled.

Quit crying like a baby. You are paranoid because no one likes the Pats outside of Pats land.

Just imagine the UPROAR if this was Belichick.

Someone with photoshop skills totally needs to make a picture of Dungy with a halo and angel wings.

I agree the intent wasn't sinister, but the end result is the same. You can't have teams communicating with each other about how a game will be played. This is an absolute no-no regardless of how harmless the situation appears.

If you allow circumstances where that behavior is OK, then you are trusting teams to police themselves on how far they take the behavior. Once you've reached that point, you will see teams starting to build mutually beneficial alliances. I'm not saying this will lead to league-wide corruption, but what it will do is call into question any late season situations that seem a bit odd...particularly ones where playoffs spots or seedings are affected.

Change the situation on Sunday a little...what if Cleveland needed the Titans to win to force a 3-way tie where they owned the tie-breaker (but didn't in a 2-way tie). Both Indy and Tenn would have nothing to play for. Cleveland could offer Indy a little something (5th round pick for a player they don't want and Indy is planning to cut anyway) to make sure the Titans won.

Not so harmless any more, is it? And it isn't a huge leap to get to that scenario from what happened on Sunday. What really burns my biscuit is that the whole situation was stupid and avoidable. If Dungy had taken the timeout after 1st down and Fisher had called 4 sweeps (staying inbounds), the Colts would likely have had time for one play at their own 20. Heave it downfield, complete or not, and the game ends. Same result, little chance of injury, integrity of the game intact.

The football gods will take care of the Titans this weekend. The question is whether they will use the Bolts (expedient) or the Pats (poetic) to take out the Colts. Guess we will have to wait and see.

Wow, I just did a google search with the names "Dungy +Fischer" to try to find a legitimate story on this. Unfortunately, no, doesn't look like the story is being pursued by any news sources. However, just about every team's forums/boards are all over this! (never thought I'd visit a Cleveland forum! God, there's some ugly avatars and pics on there. . .)

Has any news source backed up/followed through on this story?

That argument doesn't hold water. The Colts would not play either of those teams in the second round, the Patriots would. The question should be "Who would the Colts want to play New England if the beat San Diego?" Who do you think the Colts (if the would even worry about that) would want playing the Pats...the Browns or the Titans? Based on your argument, it wouldn't be the Titans. The only way the Colts would play Tennessee is if the Colts win their game and the Titans beat the Patriots. Do you see the Titans beating San Diego, let alone the Patriots?

I posted some links to an article on MSNBC.com and the article they referred to in a Tennessee newspaper.
