Spillane is a playmaker and will be big upgrade over Bentley. Ellis and Gibbons will be fighting it out for the other spot. In regards to Mapu, he doesn't seem to know what he is and that's a problem. Bill tried him both at S and LB and he was pretty bad. In his second year with Mayo, he picked up right where he left off getting poor grades from Greg Bedard on a weekly basis always standing out as the worst player on defense. And know Kyles just said in a video I posted earlier in this thread that Mapu can't shed at all playing LB. The guy is in no man's land and I think it's the end of the line for him.

This. They took Henderson for two reasons: they liked him as stated in the 1st episode of YouTube and they were also sending a message to Rham. In fact, this is a one year try out for Rham to stay beyond 2025 with that awful contract they signed him to.

Once again you claim Mapu “ doesn’t know what he is,” when he’s not the one deciding where he plays. I don’t care if he makes the team or not, but blaming him because his coaches keep changing his role him makes no sense. He’s just doing what they ask him to do.

Lowe’s best spot is UPS delivery, though he is probably better off in the warehouse reaching tall orders.
We were stuck with Lowe because Trent Brown quit football and we couldn't seem to do anything right at OT past few years. His potential is NFL back up.

Lowe has 21 nfl starts, and over 1200 snaps in his career.
he is 25 years old and was a project to begin with.
he has the size and strength to play the position. his footwork and technique is improving.
in a league that is very short on OT's, giving up on Lowe is a bad idea. he has improved each year, plays thru injury and is a hard worker.
with Marrone and McD now on board, he could take another step up with his play.

Strange is a good player.

Why did NE even waste draft picks and cap dollars on new OL. Bourne is a good player too. I hope they get a 1st round pick for him dont you Ozzy?
Strange is entering the final year of his rookie contract and going to be a free agent, he’s also coming off a major injury and needs to prove he can still play at a high level. He’s playing this year to prove that to all 32 teams.

You also draft under the assumption you won’t be able to re-sign that free agent. You draft a young depth piece for leverage in contract negotiations or in case he gets injured. This is how it’s been done for decades… but you’re a smart fan of this team who has been watching?

Kendrick Bourne is a good player, he’s not great… but he’s a solid possession receiver.

You rarely get a first in any trade, that’s just silly. Bad teams can have good and great players on the roster. Talent alone doesn’t determine wins, otherwise the Cowboys would have won a lot more games under Jerry Jones.

Nah, Brown was a one year rental his last year here. We were stuck with Lowe because Wolf had him penciled in as a starter at LT and signed three stiff OLinemen in free agency.

He also got caught napping in the draft, reached for Polk, then had to reach for Wallace because the media was shredding him for not fixing the right tackle position.

Lowe’s potential is a backup, but Marcus Bryant and even Caeden Wallace if he got stronger could be better backups for now and potential starters down the road if they develop.

Pats should have read the room, and seen every time Brown got paid, he was a dog.
2016. 2018. 2022. Brown showed up. otherwise, he is lazy, doesn't want to put the work in, and doesn't play thru nicks and bruises.

He was only good when the team won, Scar was also a good coach for him.

At 32 he’s never going to reach that level of play again. We’ll see if the Texans can motivate him this season.

The organization told us the fans what they thought of the 32nd ranked OL, I'm here being as realistic as possible. Lowe jaocobs ,brown for that matter wouldn't have started anywhere else in the NFL save for the 2024 jerod mayo led patriots. So they drafted Campbell this year. If the confidence levels were high on him (lowe)we would have went elsewhere in the draft at 4. Even trying to offer Stanley a deal prior to Baltimore resigning him in FA. Jacobs, brown, lowe are what they are NFL depth players and that is fine you need depth players with starting experience.

Reilly reiff, Calvin Anderson, vederian lowe, and depending on Trent Brown was what this OL was made of last few seasons.

Lowes potential is back up in the NFL, and that is OK. Should Campbell go down he could fill in. Josh would likely have to send a back or extra TE to his side..

Elliot Wolf said last season lowe needed to learn how to use his hands. That's not a ringing endorsement for an starting OT in the NFL. I can recall this very same forum blasting lowe all last season it's crazy to see post painting him out to be more than he is. @Wozzy would agree

Reilly reiff, Calvin Anderson, vederian lowe, Demontrey Jacobs, chunks Okorafor, were what we were told was a starting caliber NFL OL last season. Wolf didn't sign reiff or Anderson.. I agree Wallace has better potential.

If Wolf said that he’d also be wrong, Lowe and even Jacobs rely too much on their width and grasping. They need to play better with their feet and brains.

Lowe is not a great athlete, Jacobs is merely a good athlete, but neither of them was strong leaving college and I doubt they did much to improve that. Long arms are great, but if you’re not strong and have cinder blocks for feet… long arms don’t mean much.

Campbell doesn’t have wide wings, but he has everything else, I expect he’ll have much better results at tackle even if he’s better suited for guard. He’s smart, athletic and strong… he might be able to makeup for a shorter wingspan with smarts and quickness.

Agreed 100%.. with no patriots news for the next 6 weeks.. it's going to be a dull time until camp starts. Speaking for myself.. I'm not going to prop up players that aren't starting level players to be more than what they are. Campbell absolutely has all the tools to succeed at an NFL OT and he has the mentality and the attitude along with what you mentioned. Lowe has a few things working against him. Campbell the starter, Lowes been dealing with an injury and the other guys like Wallace and Robinson are getting better.

Mack Hollins where are you??????

@signbabybrady @PatsFan2

All pro gonzo

Pop Douglas - Diggs - Boute - Williams - Bourne and Chism all look crisp on that EZ Route. Polk and Baker EZ Route looks very choppy. K Bourne play is saying don't move me yet: judge me against the alternatives.
