We all knew that the OL would take time to even be able to protect the QB.
==============
That being said, I like 4/5 of the OL, and don't think that thry are terrible at all. And yes, there will likely be additions next year.
LG- (Strange)-Sow-[Jordan or Leverett until Strange is back]
C- Andrews-Leverett
RG- Onwenu-Robinson
RT- Okorafor-Wallace (with Wallace probably starting after some experience)
==========
LT-A TOTAL FAILURE with Lowe as starter and no backup.

Hopefully, we'll sign one 2nd or 3rd string vet and a 3rd string backup, both NFL quality players, but probably much below average. We might even sign a backup OG/C as an upgrade to Jordan.

The right tackle position so far really hasn't been any better.

Guards are fine. They don't have one NFL starting tackle.

I agree. Not having a LT makes the line the worst ever, and the team the worst ever.
You think it’s a good line except for LT? Seriously?

Not that it would be a miracle cure, but would love to add someone hardheaded as a blocking TE or undervalued positional guy who is more of a throwback FB.

Basically just someone who could be an A-Hole out there on offense and add a different layer. Make up for some of the shortcomings of the OL and be an extra guy on the edge and move around for help, or just add some physicality since they can’t hitch their wagon on high end talent. A sh*t disturber or “Back in my day..” player.

Instead they have three finesse TEs, not a lot of physicality in the run game, and definitely not a run game equipped to support the huge question mark of the passing game. Just a thought. With 53 spots on an untalented team, there is room for anything. With everything in life and business, if you can’t be “better than”, maybe try to be “different than”.
This is the thing the patriots don’t seem to understand, or want understand. Whatever your weaknesses adding good football players to your team makes it better. Half of the roster we just cut down to was upgradable easily in free agency or the trade market and we had the resources to do it.

It is an absolute disgrace to see that one year after being in the same position regarding OT (actually with Trent Brown it was probably better last year at this time) they find themselves in the position they are in. They are in the same predicament regarding OC. This is squarely on Wolf and “Al Groh’s kid,” no BB to blame anymore.

I would replace Leverett immediately with just about anyone off the waiver wire who can play OC in their system.

I would also dump Okorafor, the guy is a head case, not good enough to start at either OT position and obviously not OK with being a backup this league. Bring in someone who can play LT at the NFL level, even if it must be Donovan Smith, who isn't good but is better than Chuks,

Go with Onwenu for now at RT and hope Wallace can take over the position during the season. If Robinson isn’t ready now I’d roll with Leverett or Jordan at RG until either the kid is ready or they can find someone better for RG then either of them.

It does seem odd that a team that has publicly stated its intention to be a run-first offense is carrying only 3 RBs and Zero FBs &/or Blocking TEs…

I think that we should add two LT's and cut one of the three, including Lowe within a week.
==========
The comparison for signing a player is to compare to no one. We need two LT's and we have one of the 53.
I wouldn't mind them keeping Lowe. I am aggravated at the fact that Chuks had to be "talked into" playing LT and then all of the illegal formation calls and he never really got closer to the LOS. I thought he was decent in Pittsburgh, but I think they should cut bait. He does not get very much push in the run game and honestly just pissses me off.

Rant over

All the starting players are not even there yet.
Our signing of 3rd string players won't make this a top-quality line. For that, we need
1) A nearly average LT.
2) a nearly average backup LT.
3) a solid backup center.
4) Robinson and Wallace to develop for at least 1/2 a year.
5) Strange to come back.

Geron Christian?
Started nine games as LT under AVP in Cleveland last year. Would be the most experienced LT on the team.
Signed a $1M free agent contract in June - so he wasn't sought after, Pats ignored him in their desperate need, but he'd cost almost nothing.

I don't see a lot of other LT's released.

That was when they had a higher opinion of Chuks, before giving up on Anderson, before Lowe got hurt, and before they knew how Wallace would look.

Bet Geron looks much more appealing to them now than he did in June.

Sounds like he's a free agent who won't have to go through waivers.

Where did you see that Chukd had to be "talked into" playing LT??

As for the lining up, this has been talked about. The Refs were being anal and Only calling it one direction..
