What do you have against our DL & LBs?
Who is replacing Barmore and Guy?
Who is the 2nd starting DT?
Who are the DEs other than Wise
Who is on the edge rushing the passer?
Who is backing up Tavai and Bentley and who plays lb on passing downs?
Who are the OLBs on running downs and passing downs?

Where do you find excellence in a front 7 of Godchaux, Jennings, Wise, White, Tavai, Bentley and whoever is DT2?
And there is absolutely zero depth behind them.

Oh no doubt... if he felt like coming to work I'd absolutely take him.
I said this before and will say it again Trent Brown was the least of our problems last year we had a lot starting with our former HC/GM.

Someone on the Pats waiver wire radar?

I will say this we need to give C Wallace a chance to develop at one of those Tackle spots. Not every Team have a Top 10 selection or First Rounder at Left or Right Tackle of course some do. Moral of post they're some Third and Fifth Round Left and Right Tackles Starting for other Teams.
But he has been worse than the guys they are playing, so that’s scary.

That’s a dumb question. But I certainly would spend money to improve the team.
It's not. You want them to spend money because they have it to spend?
Do you advocate sitting on 50,000,000 and not improving a 4 win team?
If the talent that's available if less than or equal to in house talent, I do not advocate spending money just to spend money.

It's clear the organization felt there were two things holding the team back: The GM and the QB. Those have been removed. We knew they needed to fill holes on offense: QB, TE, RB, WR and OL. put them in any order you want. They chose to address those the best they could, based on the available resources and assets available. They stretched on two WRs that are not bonafide #1's, both of who didn't want to be here. They drafted two WR that look like they will be productive, post camp. They brought in a vet QB to mentor a high draft pick. They signed the best available TE in FA, and another that is likely a decent to good TE2. They drafted a guy at TE who is a big WR type but not a blocker. They brought in a 3rd down back that was desperately needed. They did not address the OL nearly enough, opting for patchwork replacements and additions. They got shut out of the top LTs in the draft. We don't know if they tried to trade back in to the bottom of R1 and draft a guy like Guyton or Fautanu, we don't know what it would have cost in capital, but it likely would have been the Polk spot and maybe Baker and/or a high pick in 2025. Instead, they opted to fill the WR room with Polk and Baker in a deep draft and KJ Osborne. They are better at that position today than they were in 2023. I am of the opinion they still need a go to weapon on offense, but we do not know if either of the kids at WR are that.

The line sucks, to be sure, but the holes on the offensive side of the roster that resembled swiss cheese have been filled to a certain extent. If they had filled the line out, the WR room would still be bereft of talent and we'd be wondering who the hell our new QB was going to throw the ball to.

There was only so much they could do IMO. I believe asking them to fix it in one round of FA and draft is a lot to ask. I think they did a good job on paper, now we need to see if these kids can play. They still need OL help, but they are going to have to wait until the 2025 draft to do it. Forget getting a LT in FA next year, the class is thin. It's build through the draft at this point, bud.

Jones is part of a logjam at tackle. The Packers are so confident in Rasheed Walker and Zach Tom that they didn’t even really give 2024 first-round pick Jordan Morgan a crack at either job, pushing him to guard basically from the first snap of camp. That’s left Jones to fight it out with Andre Dillard, Travis Glover, Kadeem Telfort, and Luke Tenuta for one of the backup tackle jobs.

If he indeed is done in Green Bay, or can only make it to the practice squad, it’d be a disappointing turn in the story, both for Jones and for the Packers. Jones was never high-end prospect, but has reshaped his body and refined his game to earn a shot at the roster, and the Packers have invested time and resources into that process. To end up with little to show for it at the end would be nothing short of a disappointment, even if that is sometimes just how it goes.

That's not true AJ a Rookies always get a pass Chukwuma O have been terrible for a vet. I will say this C Wallace will be Starting by the end of the year...you heard it here first he has a lot of up-side.

Clickbait thread: S. Gilmore released!

Edit: heh that’s Stephon’s little brother

White, Bentley, Tavai are pretty damn close but Excellence is a word I'd use on very few. Not front 7 but Gonzo is probably the only one I'd call excellent possibly on the whole team.

Baringer is an excellent putter too lol.

Anyway I very much like the 6 bolded above.

Pharms, Ekuale, Uche offer some pretty good depth.

Takitaki has been hurt all summer but should bring something nice when he gets healthy.

And then there is always Mapu who it's hard to know anything about other than both Bill and Mayo seem to like him. But I think he probably projects more to the secondary but at least gets some consideration as a coverage LB.

Wow I thought Trent Brown was the Biggest Tackle on the Planet now this guy.

I'm with you my guy PF2... Trent was more of a symptom of the problem last year than the cause of it... when he is on and motivated he's the best OL in the NFL. Scarr was even saying that he had to give him a kick in the ass every now and then.. I would like to have him now too!

Our team looks noticeably smaller without guys like Trent or Vollmer or Even Gronk walking around.

I think Chucks is our biggest player at around 6'6" 325.

Too bad he plays small.

Just from reading this thread there should really be a "Offensive Lineman Cut Down Day Discussion", or at least "Offensive Tackles Cut Discussion"

Watts didn't show much during the summer but I'm still holding out hope for him. And Takitaki has been hurt all summer but should bring something nice when he gets healthy.

Curious, at this point where would you rank Jennings, wise, godchaux white, tavai, and Bentley compared to the starters in the nfl at their position, roughly.
I don’t see a player on the front 7 above average except maybe godchaux who half the board wanted cut last year.
So we have no one at DT2 and you are kidding about the depth right?

Imagine if we had signed a starter at DT2, a starter at OLB and a starter at ILB? Then the mediocre guys would be the depth instead of the starters.

I’ll wait for your ratings on the 6 guys you love.

What does a punter have to do with the front 7.

According to the coaching staff he has been worse than chunks, Lowe, Robinson as all are playing ahead of him with the 1s

Yowza! Some analysts are skeptical of Onwenu at RT in a zone blocking system because of his size... this dude has 20 pounds on HIM.

AJ are we going to take bait and switch Mayo's word for it?? He had some real endearing words for Starter Chukwuma O after those penalties. I wouldn't say anything is set in stone regarding the Offense on this Team.

Didn't chucky get cut by the giants who had 0-line issues themselves? That would explain why he sucks
