OFFICIAL 2024 League Cutdown Day Discussion

I said last week that I think it'd be smart to try to ink Bakhtiari to a deal now that camp is over and just hope his health holds up. You could also wait til week 1 has passed so that his deal is no longer guaranteed and becomes week-to-week. Humphries is also a decent option but he is probably not healthy yet.
Interesting. I can bet wolf and Mayo are already looking into making calls to agents. I know last night was embarrassing but then again the Jordan's and bottom roster players like him..won't likely be on the roster by tomorrow. I can't imagine the team not seriously trying to address tackle.

I seriously doubt any team is cutting any decent tackles. So we're either getting another Lowe or we're getting someone who probably isn't completely healthy.

Yes, I've mentioned there be also. Offense tackle is such a needed position that teams lock up the good ones rightly so. So if there isn't any additions then we are stuck with Lowe at LT.

I’ve got my eye on TE, edge, LB, and maybe bigger RBs on waivers. That size seems to be more in demand with the new kickoff format, so I think there might be an opportunity to make room for a guy who needs to develop on O/D but can do STs in the meantime. Even better if it’s a player with years remaining on their rookie contract (generally at minimum salary).

I want a real backup center.

They might get lucky on a cap casualty, but even still, it's going to be a cast off that no one wants. No one is going to cut a lineman who can help an organization, least of all one who's a border line starter. Everyone is in the same boat.

Agree. We know when Andrews and ownenu are in there they are studs. OT is the problem as we know. At this point they need to get 5 lineman and keep them together that is the only thing I can think of. I don't think wolf and Mayo have the answers other than asking them to play better.

Vikings waive OL Chuck Filiaga, Doug Nester and Matt Cindric. No idea who any of those guys are.

I am sure if they ask nicely...

This is what they are. They have to find a way scheme to hide the glaring weaknesses on the OL. There's really no other way. There's no savior coming. There might be a body added to the mix, but it'll be debatable if said body is any help, or just a different face.

Cindric is a rookie center, oft injured in college. I don't know anything about Chuck Fellatio or Nestor the donkey.

Didn't Mayo say he had to get "tougher"?

Probably, but I don't know if him being a hardass makes professional players play better. Short of Dante coming back, there's no calvary coming to the rescue.

These are the challenges of a 1st time head coach.
