Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Tom was pissed about that 3rd down where Beasley lost his feet, though (competitive moment probably gotten over the moment his brain went "oh, yeah, the guy's had like 3 days").
Beasley did look rusty but can't ask for anymore considering.

Quite honestly I think it’s BB the GM who is screwing over BB the HC. However you just can’t separate the 2 on this team, so BB the HC will take the slings and arrows he is responsible for.
Yeah, no one talks about a GOAT GM. The success or failure of the GM is taken out on the head coach.

I'm waiting for the laughing reactions

Bill Walsh is the GOAT GM.

Drafted Joe Montana, then traded for Steve Young when he saw the potential at TB.

That's 2 HOF QBs and getting the key players to 5 superbowls in 13 years.

In 10 years he drafted 4 HOF players, traded for a HOF QB, never had a draft where he didn't get a multi-year starter, drafted numerous all pro players and a ton of Pro Bowlers

Remember the quote from “a patriot staffer” (Joe judge) quoted in The Dynasty, which Robert Kraft LITERALLY gives away copies of as party favors, that said the team doesn’t think Tom is as special as people outside the building think he is and that they can compete for a Super Bowl with any of the top 15 QBs in the league?

Yeah that aged well.

If Julio and Evans play against the Chiefs they will win
Unfortunately Julio is probably a waste of time. He won't stay healthy and he's lost his explosiveness. His NFL career will be nearing an end sooner than later. Evans should help with the red zone struggles... his absence probably cost them the game vs Green Bay. Godwin is the receiver they badly need back... they're going to struggle against the better defenses until he returns.

Honestly don't know what's wrong with Scottie. He doesn't look too bad out there, but the outcome each game has been horrendous. Did he muff that flea flicker attempt or did a defender get a hand on it? I couldn't tell.
Miller is a one trick pony... straight line speed... if he doesn't get open behind the defense on a go then he's just not giving you much else. Brady tried a back shoulder to Miller along the sideline and Miller didn't adjust to the ball properly which cost them a nice gain.

This needs to change, or they're going to run Fournette into the ground before the playoffs.
This is on Licht. No depth at RB at all. Vaughn or White need to at least show up more in the passing game. The TE situation is sickening as well.

If Tom's first name was Mac and Leftwich's last name was Patricia you wouldn't be saying "moved the ball fairly well"
I agree Tampa Bay's offense wasn't effective on the whole yesterday but did you actually watch the respective quarterbacks? Brady played a decent game. Jones was a disaster... they're trying to open up throws downfield for him this season and he's turning into Jameis Winston. And Patricia predictably sucks as a play caller.

This is gonna sound real dumb but I think the Pats have a better chance to knock off the Packers next week with Hoyer than Mac. Not because Hoyer is better but Mac before the injury was CLEARLY having issues dealing with the new offense and coaching and who the hell knows what. Hoyer is extremely limited and yeah can throw up on himself but he won’t be intimidated by a road game in Lambeau and the Pats can give Rodgers issues on defense and a clock control offense.
It doesn't sound dumb because Jones has been bad so far this season. However, neither quarterback will lead the Patriots to a win in Lambeau... not happening.

At the end of the day, you have to look at BB overall career. He is one of the all time best coach/GM, but his dismal record pre and post Brady means that he can't be considered the GOAT coach.

BB has proven he is a defensive genius.
Brady leaving has proven a BB offense is underwhelming without him maybe even bad overall.
All of Belichick's success as a head coach is tied directly to Brady... it's the most obvious thing in the history of coaching. I'll push back on the defensive genius label too...
Couldn't stop Eli twice on the last drive of a Super Bowl.
Got throttled by a backup quarterback in a Super Bowl after benching his best DB.
Gave up 7 consecutive TD drives (5 of them over 70 yards) in an embarrassing playoff loss.

As a GM he's not even good. His drafts alone are pretty bad on the whole.

Hometown dynamics....

People in the home town often see what they perceive as a flaw, and think it's something that proves that the winning isn't all about that player. The idea that something is lightning in a bottle escapes them. But if it was as easy as that quote made it seem those Patriots members think it is, everyone would be doing it.

Belichick believes only one player in the history of football was actually good through their own merits and thats LT. Everyone else is a spare part to him.

And Bavaro. BB would have Bavaro's kids if he could.

Agreed and I'd say there is no "BB the HC". I used to separate the two but now I don't. If the team moves on from BB the GM the HC is out the door too. Bill won't agree to anything different.

Florio just can't stop crying about Brady. I never thought he was a Brady hater until this year. Obsessed.

Florio's always been Florio. His being on the right side of a few thing out of millions does nothing to change that. He should stick to what he does best, which is linking to the original work put out by other people.

Jason Pierre-Paul's new deal with the #Ravens includes a guaranteed base salary, a $150,000 signing bonus and playing time/sack incentives that can get him above $5 million in overall pay, per source. Won't surprise if they put him to work right away.

The Buccaneers are scheduled to practice at their facility in Tampa this week before hosting the Chiefs next Sunday, but they may have to make other plans.

Hurricane Ian is moving toward Florida’s west coast and is expected to make landfall at some point this week. There is the chance that could happen in or near Tampa and that has led the Bucs and the NFL to start talking about contingency plans for the week. Those plans could include moving the team to another city to practice and/or play their Week Four game.
