Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Saints, Falcons, and Panthers are all 1-2m, and the Bucs have to face the Chiefs next week. We could see a .500 division after that.

Chiefs lost in even more embarrassing fashion than the Bucs today. And so did the Bills. So that makes me feel a bit better because every supposedly great team is throwing up on themselves and it’s not just the Bucs.

So Gronk was at the game today....

Start getting conditioned dude we need you by the bye week.

If the Bucs can win next Sunday night the following 3 games are really easy. Then it’s the Ravens but in Tampa.

In the stands?

Here's all I've got on it right now:

Gronk, according to JoeBucsFan.com, attended the regular-season home opener against the Packers. Per the report, there have been discussions about a potential return. The issue, however, is “sensitive” because tight end Kyle Rudolph had been a healthy scratch in the first two games of the year.

This is gonna sound real dumb but I think the Pats have a better chance to knock off the Packers next week with Hoyer than Mac. Not because Hoyer is better but Mac before the injury was CLEARLY having issues dealing with the new offense and coaching and who the hell knows what. Hoyer is extremely limited and yeah can throw up on himself but he won’t be intimidated by a road game in Lambeau and the Pats can give Rodgers issues on defense and a clock control offense.

Bowles said he expects Julio Jones to be able to play next week against the Chiefs.

“I can turn a 40-yard gain into 18 yards better than anyone in the NFL,” Tom Brady said of his scramble negated by penalty.

I don't think Arians' absence is a huge part of this. They were without their top three receivers today. Their LT-LG-C were making career starts 1, 3 and 3. It puts a big asterisk on anything they're trying to do. They still can play much cleaner on offense.

I think the entire center and right side of the line has been really strong. It’s the left guard who is unproven and the left tackle which is just an absolute mess atm.

Hainsey just cost them the game with his inability to get that 2 point conversion snap off fast enough.

Bucs went 2-for-11 on third down today, and both conversions were on third-and-1. Brady on third down today: 4-for-7, 23 yards, two sacks, Gage TD in final minute. Yards needed on the nine misses? 1, 5, 12, 12, 10, 9, 13, 7, 30. Way too long to go after opening drive.

I’m less concerned over a mental f.uckup like that compared to being able to play well and protect.

Guys, read this. Running on first down wasn't the problem today. Bucs threw for 24 yards on opening play. Fournette's first two first-down runs got 5 and 6 yards. They threw on 4 of 7 first downs before the hurry-up before half. Exactly 2 first-down runs got less than 5 yards.

I hear you, but Smith should be back in the next week or two. And part of a center's job is making the freaking snap. You may be happy with the guy, and the Bucs are probably mostly pleased with him, but there's no getting around his game-costing blunder out there today.

Well there’s no guarantee they win in OT.

Bowles was asked if the pregame report on Julio Jones (torn PCL) was true: "I just know he could've played, we held him out. We want to make sure he's healthy. He'll probably be back out there next week."

Bowles: “We can be tough, we can fight, but that’s not going to win us the ball game. We’ve got to play cleaner.”

Bowles said it’s “concerning” they have so many injured offensive guys, but “talent had nothing to do with the way we shot ourselves in the foot.”
