I've said before, I think it'd need to be a golden opportunity for Josh to leave. This may be such an opportunity. The Raiders are not a crap team - they made the postseason and were competitive with the Bengals in the wild card game. The Raiders may give him full control. And, he may be able to get Jimmy if he wants him and thinks he's a better fit than Carr, and then trade Carr who has 1 year left on his deal.

Pretty golden opportunity though I'd be sad to see him go because I think it would hurt Mac's development. At the same time, it's been said that Bill O'Brien would come back as the OC, so it might not be the end of the world. O'Brien did a great job utilizing two tight ends in Gronk/Hernandez and could do so again with Henry/Smith. Not two players of the same caliber, but still. Additionally, BOB is currently the OC at Alabama, so I'm sure that helps in working with Mac also.

Big question is that one of the reasons McDaniels turned town the Indy job before was because his wife really liked this area for raising their kids. The kids will be 4 years older now but I don’t think they’re adults yet. Can’t imagine Vegas would be that family raising environment his wife desired…..

The interest in Patriots executive Dave Ziegler for the G.M. position is strong circumstantial evidence to support the chatter that’s currently making the rounds, and that we’ve picked up from multiple sources who have their ears attached to the broader grapevine.​

It’s believed that McDaniels would want full control over the football operation. That could complicate the effort to hire Ziegler, unless there’s a disconnect between Ziegler’s authority on paper and his practical power when the time comes to make decisions.​

First of all, McDaniels hasn't even had a single interview - whether it be the Raiders, or anybody else. Second, if they are interested in Ziegler then that means McDaniels is not getting full control. So which is it? Or is it just PFT flinging conflicting rumors at the wall, hoping one may end up sticking, while generating plenty of clicks?
