I think it was in a michael Holley book that BB used to call people into the draft room when he wanted info and then would make them leave. It sounds like BB preferred to be on his own when it came to the draft. In general I wonder who will actually be in the draft room. I could be wrong but I thought BB tended to have as few as possible ?......will Vrabel have more guys in there.
Another thing ...would all the possible scenarios have been played out already before draft day.....eg: if player x at position y is not there on the Pats board ......so is it just next man up ?
I am probably being too simplistic and things are a lot more dynamic and changing fast.
Just meaning as few people as possible in the draft room is a BB move and I was trying to make a funny because you said fewer people and less noise. Not sure what this means… I’m not in football.
Yup, lock out Josh and Wolf and Groh, and all the others. Vrabel has his board. he doesn't need advice. NOTI seem to remember that Josh McDaniels had some awful draft picks and trades when he was HC for the Broncos and Raiders, but I am little fuzzy on the details. But he did squander a first round pick on Tim Tebow.
Also, according to an ESPN editorial, "McDaniels traded a future first-round pick to the Seahawks for a second-round selection and used it on defensive back Alphonso Smith, who lasted one season with the team." Seattle turned around and used the pick to select Pro Bowler Earl Thomas. So yes, I think that McDaniels (along with any Krafts) should be locked out of the draft room next week.
I always used to think that McDaniels was the little voice in BBs ear giving him bad draft advice, but it is pretty clear that BB could make awful picks on his own. So bad that half of the posters on this forum could have done a better job than BB, at least at WR.
Hope all goes well with the recoveryI remember him, of course, being an official old goat but it was Johnny Most that I enjoyed the best; the ultimate homer.
I do not care for the cruel jokes about my age; I just underwent major surgery so I might be a bit wonky.
when BB ran the draft, every trade and every player picked was 100 percent BB’s final decision.
Last year’s draft by committee, probably proves that draft by committee is not a great option!
Does vrabel take over the BB position as draft decision maker????
There's a word for that, we saw that from 2021 on.... collaboration. Is "draft by committee" a euphemism (whatever that is) that means that ownership will be meddling in the draft? "draft by committee" sounds like something that Bob Kraft would say which was supposed to mean that BB would no longer be allowed to screw up the draft, but actually means "I will be making the draft calls"
I know that I am being tough on Kraft, but I am trying to figure out how a supposed professional such as Wolf could screwup so bad without some outside interference.
I think that draft by committee or collaboration means that everyone is going to have some input, which I think is good because it gives different perspectives. But in the end it will be 1-3 people making the decision after all relevant info has been presented from scouts, position coaches and anyone else in the process. Is "draft by committee" a euphemism (whatever that is) that means that ownership will be meddling in the draft? My father used to tell me never use the C word.I think that draft by committee or collaboration means that everyone is going to have some input, which I think is good because it gives different perspectives. I don't understand why there is an issue with the word Committee or collaboration.

Don't be silly it was Rainbow SherbetIn the real world it gets a bad rap because of the widespread mindset that a camel is a horse designed by a committee.
But here at PF 'committee' and 'collaboration' have become idiot cover speak for how the evil Krafts undermined the brilliant and tragically under deified Saint Belichick. 'Collaboration' is also cover speak for their misogynistic tarring and feathering of that she-devil Robyn Glaser.
For the record, I love me some BB. If he's not the absolute GOAT of HC, he at the very least belongs in the conversation. I do not however subscribe to the belief held by some here that he crapped ice cream.

Never mind that. Ice cream. Gimme that. For Saint Bill's sycophants? It is gospel
Josh never picked players while with the Patriots.
