So Tom has part ownership of a 350mil stake in the Raiders but his 10 year 375mil contract is peanuts? Not to mention the potential marketing earnings he can get from his job the lasts 4 months out of the year.

Perhaps you might not understand what a "down round" and "fair market" means. Down round is investment based on a depreciated valuation. Fair market is a price a single buyer will pay.

$3.5b is fair market. Thats if they sold today without any competitive bidders and before the other 31 owners step in and establish the start bid price.

Do you really think a brand name like the Raiders would sell for $3.5b? The Commanders sold for $6.05b last year.

Hint: Try $7b. Tom gets 10% of that plus hes part of the new ownership and the equity from that as the value of that franchise increases.

Do you understand now?

The Tom Brady thing with the Raiders is so overblown no head coaching candidate cares about Tom Brady, they care about quarterback and what they're being paid.

Unless Tom Brady gets 10 years younger and put himself at QB he's a non factor, that's why i was never worried about Vrabel to the Raiders look at the division the Raiders are in 3 elite coaches and 3 playoff teams.

The Patriots and Kraft family didn't need anything to do with TB12 in the front office or as a minority owner, they need to start paying top of the market contracts without the funny money and signing star players in FA and generally spending money like the Eagles have been for a decade at the top of the market.

Tom doesnt own 10%, he owns about %5. At 7billion that is 350mil which is still less valuable than his 375mil contract, which is cash he gets as opposed to a theoretical price he could get from a sale.

His contract is still higher than his investment stake, plus the ad revenue from marketing makes his contract more valuable.

So no, it's not peanuts. And it's a part-time job. It's a no brainer to keep it unless he wants to get more active in the day to day operation of the team

He owns 10%. The investment group (that Sey is a part of) kicked in 5% of as "loan" to Tom.

The ad rev doesn't disappear. Not sure why you think that it goes away if he leaves FOX.

Brady owns 5% not 10%.

I didn't say he wouldn't have any ad revenue, but being seen every Sunday and at the superbowl certainly adds to his market increasing his potential ad revenue

I've explained the 5%/10%.

You do realize he is paid on the revenue the team earns? Raiders made $780m last year so Tom gets a check every year.

Meh on the ad rev loss. You are making an assumption. Ex players still make a ton of money even if they aren't on tv every Sunday. Even if he does see a decline I don't think it's more than the check he gets from Mark Davis.

No you keep claiming Brady owns 10% when he owns 5%. He made a joint purchase with his friend.

I just provided a source from NFL.com stating that.

Please provide your source for Brady actually owning 10% otherwise move on and acknowledge you were mistaken. Not a big deal to get wrong once in while

It's seems it's 5%. No issue being wrong.

No just like you didn't understand how much money Brady will actually make on this deal year 1 and once it's sold. It's ok to learn new things sometimes

Damn shame that his passion isn't being fulfilled here, with a similar ownership stake in the NEP, instead of the LVR.. Same in a way as Bobby Orr should've had in the Bruins...
It would be great to have Brady back as part of the team. That said, I can't imagine that the Kraft's would let him lead the charge after "taking their team back" back from BB.

Thats really the interesting part of this situation.

I wonder if Tom and Bob did have conversations around him getting a cut of the NEP.

Agreed, I can't see Jonathan wanting to share ownership. Bringing in Brady would continue the narrative that the Kraft's success is based on Brady and BB.
