OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Absolutely right. If we were to use that logic, then the Jags and Jets should already give up on Lawrence and Wilson. Although they may be ruined now. I don't understand why bad teams keep on throwing their rookie QBs in the deep end without a life jacket.

Wilson is doomed let’s be honest.

Have we seen him run many routes? I mean what intermediate routes has he ever caught a pass on? No screens for a guy that fast?
Greyson was a track star and Perriman ran a 4.2, so they are just as fast as Scottie. They will be the WR2 and 3 until Evans comes back.

It's not Scott's year and Taylor Johnson and Darden are hot garbage, they remind me of Nkeal but worse.

Defense has to play well against real QBs and defensive play calling has to be better on 3rd down especially against QBs who can exploit aggression, which is all of the QBs in the playoffs.
Defense is rounding to form. They can terrorize anyone if they can play like they did last year.

Few things on this weekend

1. We are where we should be; I don’t think our defense is a world beating d like the 2013 or 2015 Seahawks or Broncos. Mac has taken a lot of hits and I think it is showing. I think we can win a wild card but that’s where I’ll put our ceiling this year. Just my opinion - I thought this during our 7 game win streak as well
2. Bills I think are the most rounded team in the AFC - will be interesting to see how it pans out. On the main board someone was saying he isn’t smart enough to win a SB. His game today was so impressive
3. Bucs can still win it all. LG and ME will come back if Brown & Gronk can stay healthy and Gronk can get out of this little slump he is going through Bucs should score 30+. Their defense is coming along nicely as well
4. Bucs, rams, packers, bills is where the SB is won from with Kansas rolling into some form

As of now, I expect the AFCN to have 2 new starting QBs (Steelers, Browns) next season.
Wonder where Baker, JG, Wilson, Rodgers, will land next season.

Bradys arm strength is really underrated. He doesn't have the strongest in the league, but he does have a lot of zip in it even in his 40s
Not the strongest, but maybe the fastest.

The smart money is on Cleveland, San Francisco, Seattle, and Green Bay.

Titans are a fraud. Bengals are going to be the Bungals.

Chiefs are going down, either by the Bills, , Colts, or Pats.
Titans can be a problem with a healthy Henry/AJ Brown

If the Chiefs drop their game to the Bengals next week then the Titans get that bye week back which cannot possibly be overstated in terms of them getting healthy.

Cool story here about Grayson from 2017. Didn’t play football as he was a track star at LSU.

Neither Baker nor JAG make any sense for their current team.

Since when has making sense mattered to teams when it comes to doubling down on their beloved, special snowflake franchise QB? Jimmy is probably gone…if you look at his contract, and the Lance pick, but I’ve seen enough “incoming trades” and “team is going to walk away” from so-and-so QB rather than a bank breaking long-term deal to be skeptical that anything will change with the other guys.

Smart money should be on Denver adding one of these vets for next year and beyond. The front office believes in the offensive skill players judging by the extensions already paid out. Next step is getting the qb who can get the most out of those players.

I just think that there's way too much fire about how the 49ers' brain trust (Shanahan/Lynch) feels about JAG for it all to be wrong. And I just can't see the Browns giving Mayfield a franchise QB level contract with the dollar level that's now gotten to. Even the Browns have to reach a point where they learn a little something....

...right?

Agree on Jimmy G. The 49ers are pretty much pot committed to Lance after spending so much to get him.

As for the Browns, I’ve seen so many teams overpay the QB when it’s been so obvious they should walk away. It’s something about signing “their guy” and the fear he’ll be successful somewhere else. It’s human nature to rationalize, I guess. I predict the Browns extend Mayfield. Could be a franchise tag situation. He’s under contract for 2022, so still a ways to go.

The niners are actually a playoff team with Jimmy. They will throw this roster away next year waiting for Lance to develop (if he develops). My money is on Washington getting Jimmy.

While the Bucs have the talent and ability to beat any other team in the league, I think you underestimate the Buc's ability to piss away games to just about any other team in the NFL.

So does GB I just don’t think they matchup well with Tampa just like last year

I just read Tampa will be 2 seed if they win their last 2 games. Is that true?
