OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

The comparison to last year doesn’t work that well IMO because last year they finally got all healthy right at the start of the playoffs. This year its the opposite.

???

The playoffs haven't even started yet. The only player that's currently lost for certain is Godwin.

And they'll be getting AB back.

Yeah that’s how he was talking in the offseason. But more recently on his weekly podcast and other places he’s been more vague.
I have to admit I do find it fascinating as to what motivates him. I poured over the SI sportsperson of the year article but really didn't discover anything I didn't already know. Many seem to think his wife may have the final say but he has said multiple times that she wants him to do what makes him happy and then he always says that football makes him the most happy.

After games like last night you have to wonder if he thinks about maybe walking away but then I think he thinks about the next three games and the playoffs and he becomes psycho Tom again.

Getting Edwards back is huge too for the secondary. The defense has been getting healthier the last few weeks.

Well back in his 30s it always used to be that he’d stop playing when he sucks. But now he’s outright saying that when he hangs it up it won’t be because he can’t physically do it anymore. It’ll be because of non football related reasons or simply the disillusionment of continuing to do this every day.

He does bring up his kids and the fact that he's missing out on their lives. But if it was really about his kids, he probably would have left several years ago. I believe him when he says he has not found anything outside of football that excites him and of course he is still playing at an elite level at his age. I think it will be weird when he'd finally does announce his retirement because I agree it won't be because he sucks.

I mean this is totally off topic and too much information and me revealing the spoiled baby I am but Brady entered the Mo Lewis game when I was 10 years old. I am now 30 going on 31 in a month. Brady playing and working towards a SB every week is literally 2/3 of my entire life and as stupid as it sounds him hanging it up is kind of a scary existential concept to me. I just don’t want it to end.

I am right there with you. I am 47 and married with three kids whose ages are very similar to Brady's kids ages (16, 14, 9). Because we are similar in age, and have similar life experiences, in terms of marriage and children and competing at your profession - he has been inspirational to me in so many ways. The idea of him not competing every week to try to win a super bowl is something I just can't wrap my head around.

The season isn't over by a long shot. I remember not feeling very good last year either right around this time and then the team flipped a switch. There's still a lot of football left to be played and other teams are going to most likely have injuries too before the postseason begins. There's a reason why Tampa resigned all of its starters to provide depth. This team has more than enough to compete, it's just a matter of if they can execute the way they need to like they did last year.

And don't sleep on the defense turning into the monster that it was last year too. There's a lot of veteran leadership there and they know what it takes to win in the postseason and the level of play they need to perform at to win.

Ya some people need to relax it’s not over AB looked amazing Evans/AB/Gronk/Lenny is enough. Also helps that the defense is getting healthy they’ll be key in the playoff run the only team I fear for Tampa is LA

And the Saints if they make it

Scottie Miller or Tyler Johnson NEEDS to step up as a viable passing option. Not asking much, just like 4 or 5 grabs a game.

That's asking a lot from target #5/#6/#7 (Evans/Brown/Gronk/Fournette being the top 4, and being flexible on where Brate would slot),

Hillarious how a "Patriots fan" comes here immediately to gloat about an injury to Brady's best receiver in what may be the last good chance of his career. Gotta love that.
There's 3 things you can count on that poster saying:

1. Questioning Brady's masculinity;
2. Making prison shower jokes; &
3. Blaming Covid on Chinese prostitutes.

There's got to be a relationship there but I can't quite put my finger on it.

He is obsessed with homoerotic images.

maybe he likes Turkish baths

Is there any easy page somewhere of the Bucs current cap room and their unrestricted free agent situation for next year?

Sounds like most healthy adult males who appreciate Brady and rooted for him all those years in NE.

It makes sense that the thread's troll is a 30 something Incel who has never been laid and lives with his parents. Oh, and he used to have the username TommyBrady12 just to top off the perfect loser combination.

Shouldn't you be finishing up your community college classes?
