OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

different injury, scenario and sport but didn’t Kobe come back out for a few seconds with a torn Achilles?
Yeah made his free throws lmao these athletes are super human

look at which team we’re talking about. no doubt in my mind they deliberately went for Godwin, Fournette, Evans and many others knees. they have a history of it + Winston
The proof are the injuries they induced after the tackles. No wonder they were tackling so well, the defenders just dived for the ankles and knees all night.

People are crapping on Gronk for his bad game. I agree he had a bad game but he was in SURVIVAL mode too.

He would have been injured if he had caught the deep pass on the right side. He was drapped by a defender behind him and the safety in front of him was running towards him at full speed. He would have been a Gronk sandwich and injured for the rest of the season if he had kept his eyes on the ball.

the worst part is that Brate and Howard are black holes. not sure about Perriman. Johnson has regressed from his rookie season. Miller is a one trick pony. Darden just sucks

it’s just Evans, AB, Gronk, Fournette because we know that Jones can’t catch ****. and who knows how healthy AB’s ankle is

NO defenders didn't have to worry a whole lot with wrapping the receiver to take him down. They were playing a game of torpedo the lower legs and watch receivers go flying.

It is all legal according to the play by play guy, but like he said "he doesn't like it".

There are clean legal hits and then there are wreckless injury inducing legal hits. NO was playing the later type of football.

Absolutely. Dirty and illegal are not purely synonymous.

I am absolutely beyond pissed. And because it’s late December Godwin will be lucky to be ready for the start of next season. Welker did it I guess but that’s abnormal.

I swear the Bucs better sign him to an extension now. They already needed to and now they owe him. And frankly it’ll probably be cheaper now.

I now have no real hope for a SB repeat for the Bucs. Godwin was their most versatile and dangerous offensive weapon even if he’s not strictly their most talented.

Wonder if this makes Brady more resolved to be back for next season for one final shot at another ring. I know he’s signed for another year but he’s been talking pretty indecisively regarding retirement recently.

at this point I’m just hoping no Rodgers or Mahomes. if it can’t be the Pats or Bucs let it be someone like the Bengals, Rams, Cardinals or Titans. these injuries are just too much for the Bucs

The season isn't over by a long shot. I remember not feeling very good last year either right around this time and then the team flipped a switch. There's still a lot of football left to be played and other teams are going to most likely have injuries too before the postseason begins. There's a reason why Tampa resigned all of its starters to provide depth. This team has more than enough to compete, it's just a matter of if they can execute the way they need to like they did last year.

And don't sleep on the defense turning into the monster that it was last year too. There's a lot of veteran leadership there and they know what it takes to win in the postseason and the level of play they need to perform at to win.

Brady has won SBs with less talent than Evans, AB, Gronk and Fournette

The last interview I heard with Brady when he talked about his career, he said he was playing next year and the year after at least. This led to speculation that tampa is going to extend him in the off season. The question is for how many years...

No kidding ... this place has turned into a funeral.

It's overreaction Monday, and not surprising (Shut out + many injuries + WR"1" lost for season)

Someone tell me how you go from being on the sidelines trying to see if you can get back in the game to a torn ACL? HOW
My understanding is the ACL isn't like a broken leg where you literally can't walk. It basically makes the knee less stable, which isn't good for football. But if a normal person tore their ACL they wouldn't even necessarily need surgery for normal activities.

Also note that I believe Logan Mankins played a whole season on a torn acl.

Yeah that’s how he was talking in the offseason. But more recently on his weekly podcast and other places he’s been more vague.

The comparison to last year doesn’t work that well IMO because last year they finally got all healthy right at the start of the playoffs. This year its the opposite.

Yes, I mean, they played with Evans, Godwin, Gronk and Fournette since week 5 or 6. Now, you replace Godwin by Brown. And in my opinion, you can argue that AB is a better player than Godwin. Since the beginning of the year I think AB is their best receiver.

Well I’m now half expecting for the hamstring injuries to Evans and Fournette to be discovered to be torn Achilles because that’s just how the Bucs medical staff works.

Also AB back was gonna be the piece that put them OVER the top because as the #3 WR he is an absolute matchup nightmare. As the #2 and I guess Scottie Miller as #3 it’s simply not what the offense SHOHLD be.
