OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Brady named to record-breaking 15th pro bowl
Only QBs with more than 10 are Brady (15), Peyton (14), Brees (13), & Favre (11). Aaron has 9.

****ing unreal. I've now seen Brady lose a star receiver to a season ending injury in five seasons. When has Rodgers, Manning, or Mahomes ever ****ing lost a pro bowl receiver? Ever? I've literally never seen one of these guys go into the postseason without Kelce, Hill, Adams, Cobb, Jennings, Nelson, Wayne, Harrison, Clark, Thomas, Decker, Sanders.

Gronkowski (2012, 2013, 2016), Edelman (2017), and Godwin (2021) now make five seasons for Brady. Five!

This is a devastating loss for the Bucs. They're now signficant underdogs. That makes a grand total of one game in the 2021 where the combo of Godwin-Evans-Brown-Gronkowski actually played together.

They should be fine with Evans-Brown-Gronk-Fournette as long as the Oline gives TB time.

It will just make the super bowl storyline that much sweeter when Brady wins it all again.

seriously

how the **** do their big receivers NEVER get season ending injuries? did in Manning’s case

"Fine" is relative. Godwin is the biggest loss of any player on offense besides Brady. He could run every route and was a threat both deep and shallow; it's really hard to overstate how important he was to the offense.

They'll be okay, as in they still have the horses to put a good offense on the field, but they're no longer capable of just dominating no matter which defense is out there. With that secondary, it was already going to be an uphill battle.

Absence of hospital balls maybe?

It is a huge loss I'm not diminishing the loss, but with who they have remaining they should be able to move the ball and score. Things did get tougher to repeat though I do agree there

yeah you’re totally right on this one. not like Manning almost killed Collie or gave Welker 2+ concussions in 2 years

The Packers biggest issue is secondary depth, so Woods, Hopkins, and Godwin all get seriously injured. It seems like everything is lining up for them to finally win the conference. If the Bucs can't knock them off, there's no goddamn way they're losing to Stafford (who they've owned forever), and very unlikely to the Cardinals or Cowboys.

Frankly, the team that could potentially beat the Packers is the Saints...already beat them 38-3 and that defense is ridiculous when healthy.

The Packers definitely do not want to see the 49ers again

it’s going to be the Packers and Chiefs and I’ll make sure I’m at a non football party

Hillarious how a "Patriots fan" comes here immediately to gloat about an injury to Brady's best receiver in what may be the last good chance of his career. Gotta love that.

Huge loss. Godwin led the team in:
Targets
Receptions
Yards
YAC
FD

Defenses will have an easier job covering Evans (man), AB (doubled), and Gronk. Hopefully but unlikely Perriman or TJ step up.

Losing Godwin shouldn't be an issue since Brady still has more talent at his disposal than anything he had in NE arguably

Does Josh Gordon to drug addiction in 2019 count?

What's funny is that the opposite is true. Brady is known for throwing passes to his receivers to avoid contact. It's the NFL, sh!t happens.
