You take pictures of your dookies?
the really good ones? Video.
Only if you let Samuel L. Jackson read them to him...uncensored.
The path of the righteous fan is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men...
Eh. Haven't clinched anything yet except finishing the season with minimum 6 wins. Yay?
Things are looking up but we'll find out how ready they really are for prime time after the Titans-Bills-Colts-Bills stretch coming up.
We won 7 last year? I agree that's a tough stretch coming up. That said, Bucs, Cowboys, Panthers (sort of), Chargers, Browns, is 2 primo teams and 3 contendahs. Then there have been the Jete laughers, and one time we were just plain beat, against the Saints. The rest of the losses have been close (edit - I originally said the rest have been close, win or lose. Not so much when we won). In the last month, only the chargers gave us a game. So yeah we'll find out a lot about this team by that 2nd Bills game in a month. It might be an 0-4 stretch... but the trend looks right.
I think we are trending in the right direction and playoff bound, but I don't see this unit winning a sb under a rookie qb.
Has it ever happened?
Nope. No rookie QB has ever won a conference championship game either.
I think Big Ben got the closest in 2004.
There've been what, 56 SB wins total? LOL... or, 49 plus Brady, as we say around here and in Tampa. 44 plus Brady and Montana. 40 plus them and Bradshaw. So a total of less than 40 guys, remembering all those 2 ring terrors like Eli et al.
Teams generally don't let rookie QBs start. It was even a surprise when Mac won the job against what used to be Cam Newton.
When DO you start a rookie? Most places, it's not where you think you'll be winning it all that year. It's somewhere expecting him to take his lumps, but they don't have a really realistic shot anyway.
So all I'm trying to say is, the causality regarding the "neverness" of that stat is shaky. It's more that there are fairly few guys getting a realistic shot to do it, and fairly few SB winners.
I love the sentiment going around, but realistically, the only way we win it all is if Mac Jones has trully one of a kind rookie season
He has been very good. Great even. But he hasnt won games by himself, which has good chance of needing to happen in the Playoffs, if not earlier.
I dont think Ive guessed our record this year. I think we are going at 11-6
QED, regarding the bolded part (I guess that's the point). Good-
ish point in the second sentence, but I think he compares well with Trent Dilfer on the Ravens, for example. I mean, our D might not be that year's Ravens D, but they're damn good as a supporting cast too. On your third sentence, great time to weigh in with your guess! But in all seriousness, that's aggressive and I like it!
From the Browns board:
Lol. I should note, most of their fans over there are not spewing this kind of ridiculousness, just mostly depressed.
Right? I mean, they shot us with the kryptonite bullet, we sent Superman to Tampa, and we STILL pull this **** on them? From Belichick of all people! Not bad enough yet? This was probably only the 8th worse thing about living in Cleveland last weekend.
I get it, I was at Bama during the late 80's we were not good at all!
Saban has been at Bama since 2007, when my kids were 8 & 6. So basically they know nothing but winning. I on the other hand remember the years of Mike Shula, Coach Fran, Dubose when just getting 6 wins and going to a bowl game was a big deal.
I have also been a Falcons fan since birth, so I know all about losing over, and over, and over again. That's why I am so happy to be a fan of a team that knows how to win and will do what it takes to win. I am a very happy Patriots fan!!
1) Your kids were 8-6? Respect. But 11 kids, damn.
2) how long have you been a Patriots fan? Just curious. If you were in Bama in the 80s, did you jump on the bandwagon when the Pats got good?
I mean, combined with the rest of this post, I dunno. Becoming a fan just b/c they are good... isn't that an "America's team" kind of reaction? I hated Cowboys fans with no connection w Dallas who just discovered how much they loved them every time they got good.
Ironically, half the NFL media intelligentsia are crediting Belichick for Mac's success, some literally saying Mac would fail with any other team. Not a good look for the Brady Bunch narrative. For the record, I think Mac would succeed anywhere eventually even though he landed in best place with the GOAT coach. They are both lucky to have each other (BB is lucky Mac fell to him), just like BB and TB were lucky to be together.
It's a post hoc ergo propter hoc league. Bill had to cause Tom, or Tom caused Bill. Tom won a SB, that proves Tom caused Bill. But wait, Bill drafted a great QB and coached him up! Aha! Maybe Bill caused Tom!
Feh.
The one thing I will say, is that if this team makes a run deep into the playoffs, NE becomes an even shinier object. Remember the days when guys came to NE to play with Tom/for Bill? That. Some more.
