NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION ****** Other NFL Games Thread Week 1 ******

Like we did for 20 years, eh? That play may be a candidate for biggest flop of the season by a corner. And this was just the first game of the season. The corner looked like LeBron because he lost leverage on the route. The arm “extension,” if you even want to call it that, happens all the time.

It wasn't just an arm extension...it was a shove where the DB ended up on his ***.

He dislocated his elbow. Arians said he will be fine and could play next Sunday vs the Falcons. They really avoided a disaster. It looked to me like he broke his forearm.

I am glad to hear, but Prescott was having no problem moving the ball down the field when he was in. It just got worse when he went out due to the injury.

But again, it is the first game of the season. I draw no conclusions based on the first game of the season. All I have to do is point to 2003 where the Pats were blown out 31-0 by the Bills in the first game of the season. The Pats went 14-2 and won the Super Bowl and the Bills went 6-10 that season.

Do I need to post a GIF so you can see over and over and over and over again how badly the DB flopped? After grabbing Godwin by his jersey as Godwin turned for the ball. Please stop being so salty.

EDIT: Just saw who you used to be. That explains it.

Here is the video. The defender was looking back to the ball. He can have contact with the receiver. It looks like his hand brushed against his back, but you cannot tell if it was an actual grab. The pads move, but that part of the pads looks clear to be hanging loose and would have moved with a pull or a bush.

And it is looks clear to me that Godwin pushed and extended the arm. Whether the defender flopped or not is irrelevant. OPI doesn't require you to knock down the defender.

It was a bad non-call. It wasn't the only bad call or non-call in the game. I don't think either team drew a noticeable amount of the favorable calls over the the other team. This non-call just happened at the biggest part of the game.

I didn't see any grabbing of Godwin's jersey in the below clip, unless it happened beforehand. I didn't see a "flop" either. Flops are usually much more obvious than that. If there was any PI by the defender, then it should have been offsetting penalties. I'd take the word of a former super bowl referree over yours.

And at some point it will happen. The odds say it will be sooner than later, but so far Brady has been defying the odds.
The odds don’t mean anything because people who binge drink beer and eat like **** are included in whatever numbers you’re imagining.

Nah, he definitely hammed it up a bit. I wouldn't have been shocked if they called OPI though. But VERY glad they didn't, don't care who the teams are. Much better to just play the game, as the CB seems to be acknowledging, so good on him for that.

Jeez, all I said there was a possibility that over the course of the season that Brady could slow down because of his age. The guy is older than any other starting QB in NFL history (except Blanda who filled as a starter for one game due to injury). I am not saying it is going to happen or even likely to happen. But to act like I am making some ridiculous or controversial comment by saying he there is a possibility that he could slow down over the season due to age is silly.

I’m glad Tommy went to the Bucs, destroyed all his haters narratives, and I hope he wins multiple more rings there.

Last year Brady made sure you never had to hear another serious ——gate accusation invalidating your championships ever again.

Frankly, I’m so soured on Bill, I hope he slaughters us week 4, goes undefeated, and hoists a 20-0 Lombardi.

It looked like his hand brushed against Godwin's back. He is allowed to make contact since he was looking back at the ball. I don't know if Godwin actually knocked him over by pushing off though though because I think he was not really standing in a stable position and probably would have gone down with regular contact. But it does look like he pushed off.

I’m just pointing out that Tom defies the age odds for very specific reasons. It isn’t just luck of genetics. Big Ben will never be able to do what Tom has done in terms of longevity, because Big Ben doesn’t take care of his body in the same way. He doesn’t eat the same way. He doesn’t avoid vices the same way.

Tom’s longevity is no accident or matter of luck. The human body can go for a lot longer when you take excellent care of it.

Why post on a Pats board? If you want the Bucs to beat your own team, you're not really a fan of said team.

Touching a receiver on the back or his arm is usually not something that gets called for DPI. Grabbing a jersey or arm that would impede the receiver from catching the ball is definitely a penalty.

I never said it was luck or genetics, but at some point all the work, the pliability, and avocado ice cream will not beat out Father Time. It could be this year. It may not be. It may not be for 2-3 years. But no one beats Father Time. He is undefeated.

And Roethlisberger is 39 years old and has been a starter since 2004. He isn't that far behind Brady in number of years as a starting QB. He has lasted far longer in the league than I thought he would. He has outlasted both Eli Manning and Philip Rivers who were drafted in the same draft as him.

I get it but they aren’t competing with Tom’s performances and they’re 6 years younger.

Obviously Tom isn’t going to be taking hits when he’s 50 but if he has two or three more seasons where he’s competing for Superbowls and Conference championships, Father Time is kind of a moot point.

understatement of the century. He is trying to "justify" to himself and others that Brady got a legitimate win last night without help from the refs. Those kinds of comments are made by fans of the team that benefitted.
You can change your name TommyBrady12 but you're as salty as ever.

Year starting out exactly how it ended for you last year. It's going to be a long one for you suffering week after week. Lmao

On the no call Goodwin Pass Interference......I think it's real simple....if you're a Tampa fan (which there seems to be a lot of these days) you're going to think it wasn't pass interference, if you hate the Bucs(which there also seems to be a lot of) you're going to think it was pass interference.

If it was a Patriot receiver, I would be very happy, if it was a Patriot defender, I'd be very upset.

That's quite the warm take that the Pats have a top 5 offense this year. Lots of pressure on Mac to make that happen. Guess we'll see. I do think the Pats run game if Harris stays healthy is going to be special and maybe top 3 or better in the league.
