Game Day Thread The Official Preseason Week 1 Game That I’ll Turn Off After the Starters Are Pulled Game Thread

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

Lastly, we have never allowed promoting the use of any illegal streaming. This is illegal and will be enforced by copyright holders, which puts this site at risk. DO NOT POST ANY LINKS to those platforms.

This also means, there absolutely cannot be any mention these platforms, spaces, special characters, etc. - so do not get creative in trying to work around this request.

If you do you will have your account suspended.

I do not have the means to deal with legal issues and have already been contacted previously, so this absolutely needs to be adhered to. If you see any illegal links, please report them so a mod can remove them.

But how can you judge his arm strength on what you saw tonight. His only long pass was on the money and dropped by the receiver. All his other passes have been short to intermediate where arm strength is not an issue or less of an issue.
As others have brought up, there isn’t much zip like on that intermediate cross field throw to Wilkerson.

I like his poise and command of the offense though.

That false start is on Ferentz.

Because he's the Rain man. He counts toothpicks and judges QB arm strength on ten yard routes.

That might have been Jones’ best pass of the night even if it was an incompletion ( the first down pass). He threw with a man in his face and threw a catchable ball where only the receiver can get it.

Nice throw on 3rd down. Damn!

I don't get how Bill starts Cam this season if Mac continues to outperform Cam.

That is nitpicking. Even Brady doesn’t have zip on his balls on intermediate cross routes at times. And many times it is by design.

Don't bag on Jones for struggling- he is working with the backup OL and his starting receivers are Gunner and Harry.

Devonta Smith would have had that. Waddle too. Is Mac the first QB to have to adjust to slower, worse receivers when getting to the NFL?

Agholor would have had that easily, and will. There's a reason Gunner went undrafted. I know he's a favorite around here but he just doesn't have elite speed.

We just need to see Mac with the starters. He has what it takes. He's making quicker decisions in his first ever action, than a 10-year vet last year.

Or Smith or Henry. That play probably would be designed for a TE in the regular season.

Watching Mac, I keep thinking "damn" when something is just out of reach, etc, but then remind myself "these are literally his first snaps as an NFL player" - he's actually looking pretty freaking good all things considered. Work left to be done, but he's got the stuff, I think.

JoeJuan in the house!!!

weeee

nice shake and bake for a guy that big, love it!
