Deshaun Watson accused of sexual assault in lawsuit

It is easy to say you wouldn't settle if you did nothing wrong, but that is not a wise way to approach things - especially for a multi millionaire athlete looking at 9 figures worth of income in the coming years. What you should do is a cost/benefit analysis.

From the beginning I have said that it is tough to say what Watson should do when only he knows how much evidence there really is against him.... but when this first started, Watson had to have known that there were literally dozens of women who gave him massages.... and while 18 of those women are on his side, IMHO that's still not a good look.

An old lawyer I knew once told me (and there is no way I am remembering this quote accurately, but the point remains and IMHO applies here): "When the exonerating evidence makes you look like a creep, that would be a good time to start thinking about settling..."

Who knows if he got hand jobs by these women? Maybe they went along with it. Idk. It could be a shakedown. Watson’s stupidity was getting with all these masseurs.

At the risk of patting myself on the back, I am going to pat myself on the back.... Florio just theorized something I observed almost 3 weeks ago. After Buzbee's first press conference, I wrote:

"(Buzbee) said one of the women was referred by the Texans organization. Translation: We will probably go after them too."

Today Buzbee threw some lighter fluid on that ember by stating about the Texans: “You have some obligation to ask some questions.”

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand once that happens, suddenly we're talking about serious money.

I think it is a foregone conclusion that Watson's team of masseuses would have a hard time fitting under the 53-man roster limit... he'd have to keep some on the practice squad.... but I am not entirely sure what this tweet means or why Buzbee is attacking one of Watson's character witnesses....

Just listened to Andrew Brandt's podcast and he made an interesting point: we have 22 Houston area masseurs accusing Watson and 18 defending Watson.

That makes 40 masseurs in one year!

Most pro level athletes have one or two in their home town and one or two in their pro city.

He has 40 in one year!

Even his supporting witnesses serve to support his accusers.

Nothing illegal all on its own, but yep, creepy.

Because he wanted a rub 'n tug.

That doesn't make him a rapist.

There's places you can go for that. No need to hire a regular masseuse and force them to do it.

Just go to Orchids of asia

your only expertise is trying to jerk off the hatchet wound the sex change surgeon left after your last gender re-assignment surgery...at least you have plenty of houses and expensive cars to attempt to slap your beheaded puppet

I think it's 40 over 4 years, or almost one every month

its very possible the 18 defending him went along with his requests and would be embarrassed if people knew they gave happy endings on the side.

What's more telling is the guy had 40 masseuses. I'm not sure how anyone can explain that in a reasonable fashion. I mean there is no reason an athlete would have 40 random masseuses, all women whom they find off instagram who give private jobs at their house.

I think this thread is a perfect example of why many women dont come out when sexually assaulted. apparently its more believable that an athlete hired 40 random masseuses in a year and did nothing questionable. than the fact that he was searching for rub and tugs, some went along with it and others were violated.

We don’t know anything. There’s 22 cases but in reality they might only have 3 or 4 legit cases. The same story story in some of them. His thing touched me. Interesting to see how hardin responds to this. They’re gonna attack this woman’s character.

I mean, are you reading your posts? For crying out loud...

What did i say dude? Do you know what’s a bluff? Some of them might not be as strong as the others. Do you know what’s a shakedown? Not saying this is one but have to wait it out.

..The NFL did not comment on the start of that investigation, but NFL vice president of communications Brian McCarthy did issue a comment on Tuesday.

“The allegations are deeply disturbing and we take these issues very seriously,” McCarthy said in a statement to PFT. “Immediately following news of the first allegations last month, and as has been reported, we initiated an investigation under the NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy. We are continuing to closely monitor all developments in the matter.”

A league source told PFT that the league has been in contact with Buzbee...

Everything you say is an attempted excuse to ignore the women. Don't go full Simpelton.

I’m not ignoring anything. I just believe in innocent before guilty. Not the other way around. It’s easy to settle on a civil suit where even the slightest flimsy evidence can get you a million dollars.

Your posts are a lot more than innocent until proven guilty. "Innocent until proven guilty requires, literally, no more than one post.

It sure as hell doesn't require "Let’s see how Hardin responds.", or "There’s 22 cases but in reality they might only have 3 or 4 legit cases.", or "The same story story in some of them. His thing touched me. Interesting to see how hardin responds to this. They’re gonna attack this woman’s character.", or "Maybe they went along with it. Idk. It could be a shakedown.", or, when you're talking about "Bring out the evidence and STFU" you then want to see how Hardin responds, when that's obviously not SFTU, or "A text saying are you ok from watson doesn’t mean squat.", or "You don’t think maybe some stuff was consensual? It’s hear say right now. Also let’s say maybe his thing touched her that doesn’t mean anything.", or "Reg flags when all these supposed victims have the same lawyer." and so on.

Whose to say he didn't pay those woman to come to his defense? It can be played both ways.

Truth is, sexual assault of any level is extremely difficult to prove because it's normally done when there are no witnesses and no cameras.

It's a crime of opportunity. Few people will commit sexual assault when there would be plenty or any evidence beyond the word of the victim.

It's why it's such a heinous crime, and why lying it about it is worse because it's make it that much more difficult for real victims to come forward.

Again keep the same energy on both sides. I have a problem when there’s no criminal suit being filed but i will wait until it’s over. Unfortunately i see a settlement and we might never know the truth.

It’s a heinous crime which should be reported once the perpetrator has done what he’s accused of. I agree with it. It’s a touchy subject.
