Deshaun Watson accused of sexual assault in lawsuit

Then why are you commenting on it.? This is a forum, not a court of law.

Not **** but If Hardin comes out tomorrow with two masseurs who back up Deshaun Watson then what? Right now it’s a he said she said that’s all it is. People will form their opinions but nothing has change with buzzbee bringing the original accuser.

Then nothing. Who cares? If 6 billion people come out and say that Jeffrey Dahmer didn't kill them, it doesn't mean Dahmer wasn't a murder.

Either Deshaun Watson is a sexual predator of epic proportions and no one knew about it or the guy is being completely railroaded.

It doesn’t mean he’s guilty either so we are stuck in the same cycle. Let’s see how Hardin responds.

That's not how this works. I'm not sure how many times this has to be gone over.

Let's change this from the massage issue to a house painter.

If 22 people were accusing a house painter of stealing from them, you wouldn't be responding by saying

Not **** but If Hardin comes out tomorrow with two homeowners who back up the house painter then what?

Frankly his career is on the line. No matter if he’s innocent people won’t look at him the same. This notion that teams will trade him now is iffy at best. I hope we get to the end already with this. If i am innocent i am not settling with nobody.

What you mean it’s not how it works? The court system is very flawed and it’s who they believe in a civil case where flimsy evidence can get you by.

Brownie points for being an equal opportunity employer?

Joe Douglas only got a 6th? Dude needs to be fired!

It is good that we now have something to actually go on beyond the word of a lawyer. Today's press conference highlights why getting convictions is so hard. Proof beyond a reasonable doubt is very hard to establish when only 2 people know what happened.

However, given that she is filing suit in a civil court of law, that establishes a much lower burden so if it goes to court (which I don't think it will because I believe Watson will settle) she would only need a preponderance of evidence. Whenever someone says it's not about the money, that means it's about the money, and she will be receiving a good amount in the near future.

One may also conclude the strong likelihood of Watson missing significant playing time. I bet right now he wishes he simply paid the original demand....

...Buzbee claims that the massage therapist he generally identified sent a direct message that reads as follows: “I told you I stopped working with [Deshaun Watson]. Because I was hearing too much stuff about him messing with other people. . . . He’s been doing a lot in the last three or four months. I even told his ass he needed to be careful because his names getting around. I just hope don’t nobody call me to question me.”...

Tony Buzbee contends that one of the massage therapists supporting Deshaun Watson knew of his alleged reputation

This is what happens when this crap starts getting tried in the media.

Which is why people abuse it cause they know you don’t need much evidence. I wouldn’t settle if i know i did nothin wrong but he might to make do it to make it go away. Frankly his value has gone down the toilet and so has his name even if he’s innocent.

What the heck does that text mean? The guy had a football team of masseurs?
I think it is a foregone conclusion that Watson's team of masseuses would have a hard time fitting under the 53-man roster limit... he'd have to keep some on the practice squad.... but I am not entirely sure what this tweet means or why Buzbee is attacking one of Watson's character witnesses....

It is easy to say you wouldn't settle if you did nothing wrong, but that is not a wise way to approach things - especially for a multi millionaire athlete looking at 9 figures worth of income in the coming years. What you should do is a cost/benefit analysis.

From the beginning I have said that it is tough to say what Watson should do when only he knows how much evidence there really is against him.... but when this first started, Watson had to have known that there were literally dozens of women who gave him massages.... and while 18 of those women are on his side, IMHO that's still not a good look.

An old lawyer I knew once told me (and there is no way I am remembering this quote accurately, but the point remains and IMHO applies here): "When the exonerating evidence makes you look like a creep, that would be a good time to start thinking about settling..."

...
Lauren Baxley said she has been in the profession for 11 years and worked with clients of higher celebrity stature than Watson. But he is the client who brought her terror, she said.

During the session, he exposed himself and touched her hand with his penis, she said. She tried focusing on the therapy she thought he signed up for, but he continually directed her to move her hands to his anus, she wrote in the letter...

First woman to file sex assault lawsuit against Deshaun Watson comes forward, second woman is named
