Curtis Martin was a 3rd round pick. Sony Michel looks like a huge reach in retrospect and Damien Harris couldn't get off the bench when Sony was rushing for 3.5 ypc and a cloud of dust. I wouldn't rule anything out. The offense needs a big reload wherever they can find the talent.

We have three 3rds, you don’t think 2 of them can get us a 2nd. Trade UP, we’ve been having enough ****ty drafts trading away our higher picks. Make the pick. Trade up for a 2nd if you’re targeting someone.

The problem is that you don't know what you have with the likes of Froholdt, Cajuste, and there's no guarantee that Andrews returns 100% healthy. I do feel the Pats will take a couple of OL in this draft but they will likely be interior OL so you can always find a decent OG or C in the 4th-6th rounds if your scouting is good.

Definitely need competition for those positions as the talent level and health was downright terrible last year and you don't know what you are getting with the IRd rookies from the last draft class.

That being said, offense needs a huge infusion of talent. I wouldn't be surprised if we drafted QB/WR/TE early. Heck I wouldn't be surprised at another 3rd or 4th round pick spent at RB as NONE of our RBs impressed last season.

I agree that theyll take guys on day 3, and thats fine. They should, and it's a position weve had success finding on day three. I was referring to our 'premium' picks.

While I understand that you cant count on Froholdt or Cajuste as if they're proven starters, but the same holds true for any draft pick this year, particularly guys taken in the 3rd round. Neither players injury should hinder their long term prospects, and they were talented enough last year to be 3rd and 4ths. Except they have a year in an NFL strength program. Theres no more risk in counting on Cajuste being the swing tackle than there is drafting one in the 3rd round. Theres no more risk counting on Froholdt as G/C depth than taking one in the 3rd round. That's all I'm saying.

Completely agree that TE, LB, WR & DT are top needs, maybe even in that exact order...But if one of the top 4 C/Gs (Ruiz, Kushenberry, Hennessy & Biadasz) is still available at 87, then I would very seriously consider taking him there...but only if it's one of those 4...

I agree, the offensive line was devastated by injury last year. I have fixing it as bb’s job number 1 this offseason.

Ruiz or Biadasz are game changers. So much depth with a nice security blanket just incase Andrews can’t go. Not to mention injury to Thuney or Mason. Pretty sure they could transition to guard pretty easily if called upon. One of them would be a great safe pick.

Disagree on Biadasz. Major question mark. Was not the same player last year after the hip injury. Then goes out and has shoulder surgery. Without ironclad medicals, you're blindly hoping hes completely over 2 injuries and can return to what he was 2 years ago, not last year. Maybe hes worth one of the 3rds, depending on what's there. But I definitely wouldnt call him a game changer. Hes a guy I'd target more in the 4th if we address other needs earlier. I wouldnt take him over a similarly rated player at one of the top 4 needs in the 3rd. To me, hes a bigger risk that Froholdt. The downturn on on field play after the hip .... how does the hip look now? The shoulder injury. Where exactly is it at now? I know he was expected to be ready to go, but so was Cajuste. That doubt hurts his stock IMO. At least with Froholdt, we have access to every progress report hes had along the way and know exactly where he stands.

I would then use some lower rounds to replace the missing round 2. In the mock drafts I usually take highest available OT/DL at 23 then follow up with TE and WR or vice versa ....reason I take a WR so high is that I want to build for the future.

I'd like to see a wideout as well. But preferably a speed guy. If Stidham is going to be the guy, he needs every little bit if help you can get. Even though the numbers of a rookie wideout might not be great, the presence would still help open up the middle for Stidham a lot more. Big Reagor fan. I dont really have issues with him even at 23. I just dont think Bill will do it. Perfect scenario would be moving down and still getting him but I'm not sure how low you can go and still be able to take him.

Yeah in a normal year - picking btwn 29-32 in the first round, having our 2nd-rounder, and having TFB at QB - then there would be more players on whom I would gladly pull the trigger...but this isn't a normal year, so I feel more strongly that unless one of only a select few drops to 23, then we must trade down to accumulate more picks in an attempt to fill all the holes we have on the roster, and to give Stid as many weapons & protection as possible...though I also seriously doubt that Bill drafts a WR in the first round 2 years in a row...

1) So, you don't want any of the 15 or 16 with 1st round grades if they fall for us (other than your 4 blue chippers)? I suspect that they won't, but just asking. The one wildcard that I see Bill considering is Love.

2) Almost all the red chippers should be gone by the end of the 2nd. I understand there may a couple left who are on Bill's list. This argues for trading down for two 2nds, or other compensation and trade back up into the second. We would then have 2 red chippers.

3) yes, we could get 3 solid players in the 3rd and 4th, "white chippers" you have called them.

4) I would expect Bill to draft a kicker in the 5th and then turn over the draft to someone else.

OF COURSE, Bill's list is likely to be much shorter than yours. I doubt very much that he has 124 players that he would consider drafting in the first four rounds.
