"There have been a few throws," said safety Terrence Brooks, "that we see in practice where we're like, 'Damn, that was a nice one. He's getting better.' That's a good guy that's coming to work every day and proving he belongs here. I'm excited about him, man. Just to see some of the throws that he makes, it's pretty cool to see. Just to see his growth from where he started this summer, it's awesome, man"

So if the kid is that good, why not shut Brady down? He won't be back any way.
What is BB doing? He is usually heartless when it comes to old players. Let the kid play and let the broken down goat sit on the bench.

Aren't they in the running for a wildcard spot?
Nah, not really. Minnesota is currently holding down the 6th seed with a 10-4 record, and the Bears are only 7-7 with two games remaining.

That's the heir if Brady's gone, I think that tweet confirms that.

Reminds me of those pre starting JG tweets that would tell you if the guy behind Brady could be legit or not and we saw how that turned out.

What the Hey! I'd look good throwing with the RED practice jersey.

Way to jump straight from a compliment for a promising rookie --------- to bat spit crazy.

One of the reasons is remember he put up better rookie preason numbers then Jimmy and Jacobys rookie pre season numbers and argue put up a better performance

Jimmy Garoppolo, 2014
46-for-79 (58.2%)
618 yards, 7.8 Y/A
5 TDs, 1 INT
3 sacks
4 rushes for 8 yards

Jarrett Stidham, 2019
61-for-90 (67.8%)
731 yards, 8.1 Y/A
4 TDs, 1 INT
102.6 rating
9 sacks
17 rushes for 88 yards

Whats the point of this ? Did they play the same opponents ? Did they have the same supporting cast or OL ? How did each of the two's first NFL game as sub go ?

JG was ahead of Stidham in his rookie year. I don't think there is anyone who would actually argue against that. Lets hope he makes a similar jump as JG made when we see him againt next preseason. Then we can actually start talking about evaluation.

Right now he has so many others things to catch up on whether thats running the huddle, understanding where everyone needs to be, reading defenses, grasping the playbook and polishing his fundamentals.

Makes you wonder how nany more game snaps he would've gotten if not to a pass to Jamal Adams

If Brady and Edelman were out I might need to watch this game from a well padded room.

BB is playing the best QB on the team. That’s what Bill is doing, Charlie Brown.

Nobody is saying that, turn down the hyperbole

For whatever reason, the Patriots' passing game has been close to the worst in the league the last few games. Whether it's Brady's injury, the receivers and their injuries, the O-Line and their injuries or the coaching, it's been about as bad as it can be.

Brady's decline is a possible factor, particularly because the way great football players usually end their careers is from an inability to recover from injuries in acceptable time or at at acceptable cost. This elbow injury might be what ultimately causes Brady to decide to retire. 42 year olds don't recover like 32 year olds.

My guess is that Brady playing with the current injury is now at or below replacement value as a QB. The decline in the passing game this year from before the injury to now suggests that.

If that's true, the team sadly might now be better off starting Stidham, or bringing him in if Brady looks like he continues to not be able to perform because of the injury. And it's possible Brady may get further injured as a consequence of trying to compensate for the restrictions of the injury.

But let's be optimistic and hope Brady shows he's recovering.

If not, it may indeed be Stidham time.

The issue is the receivers knowing which option route to run. Brady knows where to place the ball and knows which routes they should be running. They need to learn that. But yes, I agree that more reps couldn’t possibly hurt. His elbow must be real banged up if he can’t take the reps in practice. Yet another example of why this team badly needs a bye week.

It's a shame that your predict the score " guesses" aren't as on point as your regular posts are.

Well said, my friend. It's a complicated offense that combines both tight route running, understanding the defense, as well as good football intuition. As we've seen these past 20 years, not every receiver can function well here.

Sure. but we can all see that Brady is done. Let the kid play. That's all I am saying.
You don't know what you're looking at. We're in the middle of trying to get a bye. Thats not when you let a kid play to see what he can do. How.long have yiu been a fan of football?
