Demaryius Thomas traded to the Jets

I wouldn't read too much into DT being a healthy scratch last weekend. I have a hunch that if they weren't actively shopping him he may have played.

Gotta hope Brown remains available, Harry returns to health and can contribute, and Gordon, Edelman, Dorsett stay healthy.

As others have noted, if we lose Brown + an injury, we may be wishing we still had DT. I think he's a better option (right now) than Meyers. Long-term, though, DT's value is extremely low.

Also, if they know Meredith is getting healthy behind the scenes and is showing an understanding of the offense then this move would make more sense.

At the end of the day, let's hope the WRs stay healthy until Harry returns from IR, and that Harry is then able to contribute as much as DT could've.

This.

Ffs, Thomas was a healthy scratch Sunday, BEFORE Brown joined the team. Before Watson came off suspension, and before Harry and Meredith came off ir.

Yo I completely forgot Meredith was also joining this 53 at some point this season. Wow. I really don't think we needed DT even if the Brown thing busts.

Let's repeat this.

They didn't have Brown or DT last Sunday night and they demolished the Steelers 33-3.

The next 7 games, they face less than mediocre teams.

They get Harry back right in time for their first real possible test - - Baltimore.

So, let's assume the Patriots offense is somehow "compromised" going forward by having the roster it had Sunday night. Look at the defense of this team. A win is a win is a win, whether it is 33-3 or 14-6. As long as there is a W, I'm fine with 14-6. KC's offense is nice and shiny. Their defense stinks. I'll take 80% of KC's offense with our Lamborghini defense.

It’s a HUGE sign of disrespect for his talents as a WR to trade him within the division. Maybe the Jets were the only team willing to give up a draft pick but still.

Trading with the dreaded Jets is serious business, especially for a 2021 pick that is a sixth rounder. I’m guessing that Thomas wanted a chance to go somewhere he could play a lot, and Belichick was able to keep him away from a contender AND get a draft pick.

That and a Jets 6th round pick is virtually a 5th rounder.

The 6th rounder is in 2021. A delayed year usually is valued a round lower. So it's value is a 7th........but it's the Jets, so it indeed is a 6th......

Was a little disappointed at first then when you look at it it won't matter once Harry comes back

Edelman
Brown
Gordon
Harry
Dorsett

Hopefully it'll be near the top of the sixth if the Jete perform as usual.

Only posters put Dorsett on the bottom.

Who is Dorsett better than in that list? Nobody. is he a nobody no, all those guys are number 1 WR in any other team Dorsett is an elite 3/4 WR and he plays his role like fine wine.

Dorsett is on pace for 64 rec for 1520 yards and 32 TDs. Why the disrespect?

Harry is not close to being a #1 WR; maybe in 2020.

Now I feel bad for Thomas with the Jets already in a free fall just days after the transaction (their players will likely just give up after they lose to the Browns), but when you request a trade to the NYJ **** happens. I wonder if Gase will still be the coach in October.

One of those WRs on that list ahead of Dorsett is a rookie who was on the inactive list for game 1, and who has so far proven nothing other than that he might possibly be made of glass, which we all ass-ume is not true.
