I don't agree that that's preferable why should Tom have to agree with mediocre talent and hin playing improves it?
We saw what he did when he had Moss and even Deion Branch.
Aside from Welker and Edelman it's almost disrespectful to give him the receiving corps he has had.
I'm hopeful for Patterson and would love Dorsett to reach his potential.
But why can't Tom have talented receivers?
If you talk about the team building In tbe salary cap and being able to skimp at receiver because of Tom?
Their are plenty very good receivers that could be signed or aqquired for reasonable and not elite cap.

It’s not like Decker and Britt were good 5 or 10 years ago. We’re talking one and two seasons ago.

There is some gas left in those tanks. It’s more a matter of acclimation, IMO.

I know I’m partially nuts but I like this WR group. An interesting combo of speed, size and quickness. With some great pass catching TEs and RBs.

Umm.. Mitchell was released.
Jules- Hogan- Dorsett- Patterson-Berrios - Decker are likely the ones making the team. Britt might make it if he can make it onto the practice field but he's more likely the odd man out..

Decker is an NFL -proven, professional receiver. I don't know if he'll make the team (based on his contract its likely) and how much he'll play but it would not surprise me if he made some plays at the start of the year.

I think you need to reread his contract. It only includes 75K of guarantees.

Well when your contribution to the discussion is “only time will tell” that’s pretty conclusive that you feel there is nothing to discuss because no matter what opinion anyone has, your position is “only time will tell”.

My point being finding one out of thousands of longshots that made it to use as the argument that a longshot has a strong chance of beating out a proven veteran is not a realistic argument but just a “hey anything could happen” And it kind of sells Edelman short for the work and dedication it took to be that one of thousands.

Because the inital reports only gave the overall numbers (1.9m with chance to go up to 2.7 or something like that) but as usual lacked the details.
