31 Overall Pick Sony Michel

I couldn’t be happier with this pick. He just has the“it” factor. The speed, the cuts, can lower the shoulder. Complete back.

You can’t teach speed and cuts. You either have it or you don’t. He’s not a system back, Sony is a game changer, game breaker.

Which linebackers you got left that can cover in space right now? I am not saying we can't get some defensive guys but i am hoping the LB position's addressed.

Fred Warner isn’t a thumper but might be the best coverage nebacker in the draft. Doesn’t alway get physical in the box though but covers like a safety. Christian Sam is interesting to me, met with B.B. I believe and is very physical with decent coverage ability. And Genard Avery is another; excellent size and athleticism and can rush the passer but is a little weak on his instincts. @reamer has some guys he likes too.

Warner is a good one, Scales, DOD, Moore, Cichy all guys that can play in space too

Thoughts on the picks?

His medical issues are about bone-on-bone which realistically will be an issue for the second contract and not immediate like Easley. Not even close to the same thing.
Yes not even in the same ballpark. Easley had some awful knees & struggled w/ weight his college career.

Blah a first round RB. Not really understanding this one. Would have preferred the NC ST RB later on.

Dont like the pick at all. RB dont hold up that long and could be had around 3-4 round. No reason spending a first. First rounders are your staples for the future, not a RB who is good for a couple of years and especially not this one who is banged up already.

Guess BB is trying to stay ahead of curve. Star running backs are reasonable cheap, like TE:s I guess.

Penny was my #3 and going in the 1st prob was the biggest surprise of the night, Im thinking teams are upping the value of RB atm and seeing how versatile guys like Kamara, Michel are.

I had him as a 2nd but there was no way he was lasting until the 3rd-4th. Hes a beast. This is the def of a win now pick. Both were actually.

Both picks appear to have gotten the stamp of approval on PatsFans.com... nice. After reading all the reviews of the draft, did not expect this..

One of my favorite RBs. He has OROY potential in this offense.
Yea I said the same about both but Michel would have the flash & stats on his side.

People wont really understand it until the see it.

Michel, Rex, White & Gillislee is about as good as it gets

I haven't read 1, what are they saying?

He’s got fumbling issues, but he’s a threat to take it the distance whenever he touches the ball. The fumbling issues need to be fixed, though. I hope they triple dip on the Georgia pipeline and select Carter today.

This guy is a major talent. Takes pressure off Brady. No ‘learning curve season’ for the twilight of Brady’s career. Comes in with presumably his friend Isiah Wynn, helps with familiarity. As a pats fan it can be tough to remember how important a great traditional RB can be. These picks were a perfect fit to stabilize our QB and let him continue to do what he does.

Really like Michel. A lot of people have compared him to Kamara but I see a bit of LeSean McCoy in him. I think the fumbles can be coached out of him. The few games I saw the ball was knocked out at the end of the play 25 yards downfield as he got a bit loose. Pretty easy to fix. It didn't seem like he is a Ridley style fumbler where the ball is knocked out in the pile/line of scrimmage.

Health is just my one main concern. This bone on bone knee thing is worrying. I'd hate to have to manage him like Malcom Mitchell as he seems a really exciting player

How serious is the knee issue? Bone on bone?

White, Burkhead, Gillislee, Develin, Rookie Sony Michel, and FA Jeremy Hill - decent mix of backs if Gillislee is worth a damn and learns how to block somebody. Jeremy Hill is a goal line guy with limited usefulness - odd man out.

Brady will have three pass catching backs who can get YAC - White, Burkhead and Michel to go with the ridiculously deep receiver corps. I like where the offense is going.

Rounds 2-7? Defense.
