Given how BB seemed to emphasize a stable ownership as most important part when giving advice to previous coordinators I don't think he would agree with you.
Like when Romeo went to Cleveland and Mangini to the jets??

Of course you dont jump on any opportunity otherwise you end up with insane people that will not even let you build a program / establish a culture.
There is a difference between finding an individual job that you think may be the worst and most difficult chance to succeed in and finding any flaw with every job and expecting the perfect situation or you are afraid of the challenge.

Curran actually used the Mangini example on QuickSlants a week ago. He said that Bill warned him about ownership but in the end it is still everyone's own decision.

You are building strawmen arguments with your perfect situation stuff. Nobody is saying that a coordinator should wait for the perfect thing to come along.

Am also done with this conversation because you are claiming the same things each year and nothing changes.

I remember you were saying a year ago that McDaniels essentially needed to take the 49ers job and not make any demands. And yet here we are a year later and he still is the go-to guy for many vacancies. And guess what? If he doesn't find a position this year that meets his requirements then he will be top dog next year all over again.

Because there has been no reason offered that would make me change my opinion.

That’s not at all what I said. However perhaps had he done that even would have gotten that job over shanahan, and it looks like it might have been a pretty good decision.
How do you think he is top dog? No one has offered him a job. Patricia is getting more interest.

How many jobs is he being considered for that are any better than the ones you think he should have turned down last year.

In fact it is you who keeps repeating the same uninformed opinion but I agree there is no point in continuing this.

Tell the Colts and the Giants to go **** their mother and let the Lions get permission.

Why? Giants are devoid of talent.

Better organization despite what happened this year. Good ownership. High draft pick. They are devoid of talent on the offensive line for sure. But not necessarily through the entire roster

Why would anyone want to oversee the demise of Eli and be the guy who ultimately benches him.
Not sure where you see talent.

Other than irsays personal issues I’m not really seeing a better organization.
That said McDaniels should jump on either offer but he would have a better chance at success in Indy imo.
And the pick would be used on a qb 1 or 2 slots (?)before he picks in Indy

Why? Giants are devoid of talent.
A disaster of a locker room (Eli Apple, ODB, etc) and tons of press scrutiny.

It won't end well, IMHO.

Not sure the NY crowd will give much if any slack to coaches that came up through the NE organization.

They might be better off just letting Gettleman bring along someone from NC.

The colts are inept at building a roster. Sure he’d have his qb but that team seems to have some issues with acquiring talent.

I see talent with the giants in their pass catchers, defensive line, and defensive backs. I don’t think the running backs are bad either. The offensive line stinks. Still think Eli has something left. He’s not the type to carry a team but if you put the pieces around him he will get the job done

To me the giants are a big bounce back candidate next year.

As for their draft pick. They need to get their QB of the future but they also need big time help on the offensive line. Maybe they can get some free agents and draft a qb. Who knows. But I have more confidence in the giants finding their way in the next 5 years than the colts or the lions.

The lions are middle of the pack every year. Worst place to be

ler got 4 starts.

In Chicago, Fangio (DC) finally got the Bears defense back into the top-10 (both points and yards) in his 3rd season in spite of losing a bunch of (previously) key guys to IR.

Fangio has been linked to replace Capers in Green Bay.

I’ll buy that first part. McDaniels won’t get any slack from the fans.

As for the second part, I’d be suprised. The giants usually hire the Gm and the head coach separately for lack of a better word. In other words there’s usually not much say from the Gm in who the head coach is

How do you know?

They have a new GM who's only had 1 draft and already successfully traded with the Patriots twice, the Colts won both the Brissett/Dorsett trade and the Allen trade, all he's really done so far is get rid of most of the bad contracts from the Grigson era for all we know he could be good at his job.

The Patriots were one of the worst franchises in the NFL until they weren't, things change fast in the NFL, the fact that Blake Bortles just won the division going 10-6 makes me think a fast turnaround in Indy is possible.

Detroit is tougher because the division is much harder, you have Rodgers, the Vikings and even Trubisky could be good in the future.

The colts are inept at building a roster. Sure he’d have his qb but that team seems to have some issues with acquiring talent.
They were a long time contender before grigson and he is gone. You don’t not take a job because a poor gym worked there once.

Yeah we disagree. Eli is cooked. Obj will not last under a strong coach acting like he does and expecting to be the highest paid player in the NFL. Not sure what rb you are looking at and the whole defense was awful.

To me the giants are a big bounce back candidate next year.
To me, apparently ownership, they are a total rebuild.

As for their draft pick. They need to get their QB of the future but they also need big time help on the offensive line. Maybe they can get some free agents and draft a qb. Who knows. But I have more confidence in the giants finding their way in the next 5 years than the colts or the lions.

But you said go to the giants because they hav a higher pick. It’s 2 and Indy is 4 or 5 and they have a franchise QB.
Detroit is now being run by Quinn who obviously knows what he is doing. The giants are being run by the guy Carolina fired.

Tony dungy did just fine there. Pagano got a lot of time. He would be getting luck as his qb.
There are a lot of worse opportunities than that. If you draw the line there the only jobs you would have him take are almost never open.
Do you think the Giants and Lions are worse opportunities?

The last time we lost both coordinators in the same year was in 2004 when we won 3 out of 4 super bowls. just sayin'....

The colts are inept at building a roster. Sure he’d have his qb but that team seems to have some issues with acquiring talent.

That was Grigson. Ballard is actually a pretty good GM and if you believe what Curran and others are writing someone they think McD could work well with.

A new GM that is known to be pretty strong minded, an ownership that just puked over themselves when it came to handle their long term QB & coaching and a locker room where player call themselves out as cancers or just announce that they dont want to play that week so they can start vacations early.

That does no sound like a great place.. Indy is a much better place than that if Luck can come back to actually play the game..

The lions are middle of the pack every year. Worst place to be

You have good ownership that unlike others (*cough* Bengals) is fine with spending money, a more than competent QB and finally a GM that came out of the Pats system. It is the ideal place to be for Patricia.

Gettleman a Wilks supporter, but Giants ownership could want experienced coach says:
Just-hired Giants general manager Dave Gettleman thinks highly of Carolina defensive coordinator Steve Wilks as a top candidate for New York's head coaching opening, according to league sources, but ownership may prize past head-coaching experience after a failed experience with Ben McAdoo.
Report: Gettleman informs Giants coaches they're free to explore says:
The Giants have been reported to already have scheduled four head coaching interviews that include: Jim Schwartz, Josh McDaniels, Matt Patricia, and Steve Wilks.
Seems to be a toss up, but at least one ex-Carolina coach is in the mix.
