OT: I love Steelers fans

That's awesome. I would love to come up there and watch a game with you.
But your fandom and knowledge intimidate me.

...And frankly, I'm afraid. :p

Nah. Just bring Joker a bottle of hooch as an offering and all will be well. :)

I've come unhinged more than a few times in the gameday thread. Pretty sure I posted "10-6" towards the end of the game. I've posted some really stupid stuff. It's just passion, man.

...But somebody being overly passionate, or "whiny" makes them a bandwagon fan? Naw.

Not necessarily a bandwagon fan, but just as bad: a gutless fan. o_O

It ain't passion. We're all passionate about the Patriots, otherwise we obviously wouldn't spend time kicking it around with other fans on a Forum.

But real fans ~ yes. real fans ~ may scream and shout at a decision or a play. They may say that Coach Belichick made a stupid decision ~ he's made them. Sometimes intelligent people make stupid decisions. It happens. Or they may say that Brady made a stupid play, or that he sure sucked on a given day. Hell, Brady's said as much, into a microphone, which is reason #4276 why real fans love the guy so much.

And I'll even go a step further: Overreacting to another slow September and squealing that we're gonna go 10-6 or 9-7 ~ apocalyptic records, to be sure!!

~ is really stupid, and deserves derision and scorn...but it's not gutless.

But to take it a step further than that, and to insult Coach Belichick?

Or to insult Brady?

Or to insult this team and question its effort??

That ain't passion.

That' just gutlessness.

I just get a kick out of the boastful attitude of Patriots nation after barely winning, and after trashing their team for 3 hours in the gameday thread.

Yet another game where the Patriots put distance between themselves and the Steelers, and Brady put distance between himself and Roethlisberger.

But you go ahead and spin it however you need to spin it in order to sleep tonight, after spending days here being one of the most pathetic trolls this site's ever had, and we'll enjoy the taste of your salty, salty tears.

It wouldn't be Patsfans without it! See ya in the playoffs!

what the hell is a "gateekeeper" anyway? Is that like ...some snarky, "kewl kid" reference to an IUD?

Perhaps, after yet ANOTHER in a string of horrific, excruciating defeats, the "gatekeeper" should change his moniker to "Cryptkeeper"

I love the Steelers too. Tom Brady owns them. So much so, that he basically has 11 SBs because of them (5 with NE, and 6 by sheer virtue of his ownership of the Steelers franchise.)
But it still doesn't seem to make up for SB42 and SB46 sadly.:(

Most overrated fanbase in American sports.

Noone had any time for the Steelers before "The Immaculate Reception". Now, these frauds believe it is their birthright to be viewed as fan-nation royalty and that all naysayers should run for cover as they wave their majestic large yellow panties in the air yelling unintelligble blather.

Back to the rear they go. We're onto Buffalo.

Heh. We take different approaches, you and I.

Me, I like telling'm to jump. :D

I'm a Darwinist, you see.

That’s hilarious. Made me remember scary movie with the teacher up there threatening to jump and the girls down there yelling “what are you waiting for”?

Oh right .....because what you are describing NEVER happens on the Steelers board when your team BARELY wins many of their games right?!

Please don’t judge us by our game day threads... that’s like our worst possible example of who we are! It’s 20% interested fans, 30% trolls, and 50% people just using the thread as an outlet for all of their negative thoughts and feelings during the game.
Just so you know ...the steeler game day threads are filled with rational, positive minded, upbeat folks with no signs of negativity, stress, or anger.....it’s a wonderful place I am sure.....

Great post here.....

I'm not too proud to admit,

I've been a fan since the late 80s/ early 90s. I've come unhinged more than a few times in the gameday thread. Pretty sure I posted "10-6" towards the end of the game. I've posted some really stupid stuff. It's just passion, man. It short circuits the brain. That's how most Boston sports fans are wired. If anything, that angst has it's roots in the Red Sox futility, the Bruins being a joke for decades with one of the worst owners in pro sports history, the Celtics sucking for 21 years and the Patriots being a joke for most of their existence until the mid 90s. I can still remember a kickoff return in 1991 because it was the highlight of the year. Back then, you would watch the Pats and you weren't even rooting for a win. You just wanted to see some exciting plays. 12 wins in my young life as a Pats fan was incomprehensible, let alone getting to a Superbowl. I actually rooted for the Giants when it came to the playoffs. Was a big LT fan. Was excited when we signed Meggett. Makes me sick to think about now.

So I think it's just passion, more than people being pinkhats. Boston fans are unlike any other in sports. It's always been like this. I have a real problem with people telling someone how to be a fan, or what a "real fan" is. Wait what gives them the authority to decide that? It a ridiculous authority to claim to have. Everyone cheers in their own way. Doesn't make them any better or worse a fan than anyone else. I mean, if you are one of the jackasses that claims to be a Sox fan and then trashes David Ortiz, that's one thing. You are a fraud. But somebody being overly passionate, or "whiny" makes them a bandwagon fan? Naw.

The best part about this game is that the Steelers pushed their chips to the table and went all in. They blew their wad on it and even if we see them in the AFCCG (we won’t because Jax will wipe the floor with them before then), they’ll have nothing left in the way of surprise and Brady and Belichick will have a whole game of tape to study about the coverage concepts they tossed at the Pats yesterday.

The factoid about the Steelers practicing at URI is interesting, either I forgot or did not know, probably the former..

This thread has just verified my reasoning for not participating in the game day threads any more, prefer instead to give the game my undivided attention.. will save fighting the trolls to a later date.

He got you mfers there.

But to be fair to us, the defense ****ing blew for most if not all of the game. They're playing with their 2nd string front 7 though, hopefully it goes back to being average/above average when KVN and Branch return

GDT is pathetic...don't give me this passion excuse. After all Brady and this team has done, to not have a little faith down by only 1 score is beyond pitiful.
You can have all the faith in Brady you want but it won't matter if he doesn't see the field again because the D couldn't make a 3rd down stop

The Defiantly Pessimistic Goose?

Bingo. You can throw all the points allowed stats out there that you want to, but the third down defense was absolutely pathetic yesterday. They got fortunate that the Steelers wet themselves at the end and went for the pump fake that was obviously well defended instead of kicking the field goal and hitting OT. Otherwise, the defense blew that one. Hopefully things will improve when they're not putting a M*A*S*H* unit out there at DT and LB. I actually expect them to. But that's rough sledding and it's definitely something that will drive Belichick up the wall this week.

I think i might have lost some friends last night that are Steeler fans and Patriot haters. I couldn't avoid commenting on their ridiculous comments on social media.
They can ***** all they want about the refs and the calls but don't call the Patriots cheaters and dirty names because their coach/QB screwed up on the last play.
Everybody should no you don't run crossing routes in the EZ against the Pats.

Oh god I know what you mean there, I’ve been called every bad name in existence and even labeled as loathsome for my continued support of the blackest, cheating, no good ref paying patriots. A hideous argument broke out that lasted till five am. The gist of the gripes were they eventually concede it’s not a catch but say that since I’m being a stickler for rules on that then I have to concede the pats interfered on the last play.

I’m like, no pi was called ergo none occurred and you can read it in the paper today.
