OT: I love Steelers fans

[QUOTE="I'll once again bring up the fact that their most popular fan forum doesn't even allow fans of other teams.[/QUOTE]

That's not a terrible idea. There was time in the early 00s that I actually respected the Steelers. Before That WR (forget his name.) acted like an idiot in the Superbowl, Before Harrison proved to be one of the dirtiest players in the league, before the rape charges against Ben and before all the chirping and whining and just general classlessness from Steelers' players. I attempted to talk football on a Steelers forum. I could not show enough respect to the Steelers or board members. I could not walk lightly enough on eggshells. The only thing that mattered to these people was that I was openly a Pats fan. I was constantly attacked without provocation, called names and I become the butt of all their frustration at the Pats. I was NEVER disrespectful. I never even defended myself. Never did gain their acceptance. It was like trying to converse with a pack of rabid dogs. Maybe it was just this one forum. And maybe it was because I was a Pats fan. Maybe they would have been more civilized if I were a Packers' fan, for example.

If I were running a forum, I wouldn't do that. But I can understand why somebody would.

If youre on favebook go read behind the steel curtain’s page and last 4/5 posts. Pathetic!! Lmao. Again, show me one play that was called incorrectly.

Honestly if it werent for some of these fans and their dbag coach, the steelers would be a pretty likeable team. The Rooneys are class, really sad to see stuff like this from the people that represent ‘steeler nation’ ( i know they arent all like this too)

I been a fan of the Pats since 2001...

The year Babe Parelli started as QB....

Waadayamean he started in the 60's?

First thing to go is your memory I guess :D
Parelli? I'm not that old. But I do remember watching Plunkett as a kid.

I just get a kick out of the boastful attitude of Patriots nation after barely winning, and after trashing their team for 3 hours in the gameday thread.
You'd be boastful too if your team was as undermanned by injury as the Pats were going into this game. The Pats won by coaching and sheer grit.

I enjoy the gameday thread. While everyone is throwing themselves off bridges I stroll in and say they’re gonna comeback. Brady makes me look like a genius every time LMAO.

WOW!. Not one sane post (that I read).
It's funny, because we say the same crap.

But as far the league loving the Pats??? ..Now that is very funny.

Yea, all 32, want every person, to own a TB 12 jersey??. :DGOLD!!!

Please don’t judge us by our game day threads... that’s like our worst possible example of who we are! It’s 20% interested fans, 30% trolls, and 50% people just using the thread as an outlet for all of their negative thoughts and feelings during the game.
I had fun doing the gameday thread today...I think it's okay to freak out when things don't go our way...it makes winning even sweeter

I just love the way they think the NFL wants the Pats to win. How do they figure that?
Um, if so, they've got a really weird way of showing it...

...constantly anticipating another first round draft pick theft any time...

I don't normally go to opposing fans' boards. The exception is anytime we beat the Steelers. I don't think there is a dumber, more unhinged, angry, nasty fanbase in the NFL. Pure unintetnional comedy gold. Completely divorced from reality. They just cannot take a loss like a man. There is always an excuse. I assumed it would be the Brown injury. I guess I'm not crazy enough to get into the mindset of a Steelers fan. Nope, the refs are part of a massive conspiracy to help the most hated team in America secure home field advantage in the playoffs. You can't make this stuff up. They are serious. Hilarious (and a little bit sad) read.

NFL needs to investigate Corrente's Crew

They are the most mentally unstable fanbase and, rest assured, this loss WILL put them over the edge (for the 1-2% that weren't completely off the deep end to begin with).

I would feel sorry for them if they weren't such a bunch of pathetic ***holes to begin with.

Plus their city and economy sucks and Primanti Bros is pig slop. In short, f*ck them and the horse they rode in on.

Ok..... I've said this 100+ times...

I personally don't lose my mind in the GDT, but I do lose it at home, watching.

That's why I watch. The excitement of not knowing, hoping, yelling, getting all worked up...

That's the GDT. Knee jerk reactions.
My wife hates me when I watch.

I go pretty easy in the GDT, but I understand and don't mind it one bit. That thread should have no relevance in reality of a true fan. It's emotions.

If fans cant handle that, maybe don't read it?

To me, that thread is the guy across the bar yelling at the TV.

I hate that guy.:) jk

Just my opinion

I visit the gameday thread to coax people in off the ledge and bring some positivity. I view it as a charitable community service. Kinda like working at a soup kitchen.

In fairness, they were the only ones who objected to hiring Goodell as commissioner, which makes them more admirable than Kraft.:(

Babe Parilli...not Parelli. I used to have an autographed card just like this one from when I was a kid. Had a Jim Nance and a Houston Antwine and a Bill Lenkaitis card too. My Gino autographed jersey was lost in a move in the 70's. never collected anything after these things since....just a day in day out Pats since their first game. The Steelers used to hold their camp at URI when I was that age. I lived a mile from the practice fields off Rt 138.
The world was certainly different back then....but fanship remains a constant it would seem.

They probably subscribe to the theory that the NFL constantly taking our first round picks and suspending the GOAT is an effort to motivate the team to win or somesuch.

What it comes down to is that they have the mind of a child. They lost; they can't readily understand it, so they run to "you cheated!"

This is the level of pandering, insanity we are dealing with. From the national media, not some hacks in Pittsburgh or clueless Steelers fans. Wow.

Fans have always been jealous of dominant franchises. But this is next level hatred and irrationality we are witnessing. Unprecedented level of delusion.

Did the Steelers get robbed on a controversial non-catch call?

The title for me was "Refs cost Steelers a win thanks to NFL catch rule".

I guess they think the refs made the rule. And forced rapist to throw a third down pick costing them an easy game tying field goal. This is getting pathetic. This is what passes for journalism these days. The ramblings of frustrated, infuriated 13 year olds.

That's awesome. I would love to come up there and watch a game with you.
But your fandom and knowledge intimidate me.

...And frankly, I'm afraid. :p
